Guest Lady Luck Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 the beginning of the week, the Skyrim community was promised additional information on the release of the Skyrim Dawnguard expansion pack for the PS3 and PC. Early yesterday morning, we caught a surprising occurrence, as the Skyrim Dawnguard achievement list had been posted on Steam's website, and client. With these developments occurring, we knew that an announcement for the Dawnguard DLC was coming very soon. To our surprise, Bethesda has released the Skyrim Dawnguard expansion pack to the PC, via Steam. The expansion pack is now live on Steam, for the purchase price of $19.99. PC gamers can now rejoice, as the long-awaited and much-anticipated first expansion pack for Skyrim is now accessible through the PC platform. But, with this announcement, PS3 owners were left out to stray. In the follow-up post on Bethesda's official blog, it has been stated that the PS3 version of Dawnguard has been delayed. We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality. It seems that the PS3 version of the Skyrim Dawnguard expansion pack is not up to par with what Bethesda needs it to be. With these performance issues, Bethesda has decided to delay the PS3 version of Dawnguard, in order to release this content without having any performance issues. Bethesda has promised to get this content to PS3 users as soon as possible, but they have not released an estimated time-frame of when to expect Dawnguard to go live for the PS3. Also, be sure to check out some of the news stories below if you haven't already.
