Guest Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I have never been to one and recently in my city there will be a convention for something similar. Never been to one so I am going to it out of curiosity and not really sure what to expect. So... have you guys ever been to one? what did you do most of the time? met any new people you eventually kept in touch with?
the_mess Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I went to the Eastern European Comic Con. Its the biggest con in the EU. Basicaly its a few zones, each for different type of stuff like gaming, anime, food, shops, dancing, cosplay, etc. I went with a friend and we've spent most of the time in the gaming and the trading card games areas. There are PCs and consoles where you can play as much as you want for free. And I believe there are free decks to try the different card games such as Yu Gi Oh and Magic. The shops are nice - lots of official merchandise. Just a few bits of cheap crap, but its 90% original stuff. Also there are TONS of comic books and manga booths where you can read and buy some issues. We really liked the cosplay part. All costumes were high end with very small amount of attention whores who put on bikini suit and think thats cosplay. Almost all cosplayers were with "forged" armors and weapons not just cat/bikini suit. The visitors are not exactly friendly since everybody went with somebody so there's little to no random talk. I was a bit disappointed by that since I was imagining something like in the US conventions. Also it seemed that most of the people don't speak english which is funny to say the least for people who are supposedly fans of anime/games/comic books. Overall its great, you will like it.
