Pointers for making a "monster suit"?

A different thread I was looking at made mention of a blog at http://titskyrim.blog.fc2.com/ and I'm trying to figure out how that guy has done what he's done with the monster races he has there. It seems to me that he's either made a staggering number of custom races on the human male skeleton for those animations to work, or made body-setting armour to replace whatever mesh was there before and put them on male NPCs. I'm unfortunately not quite sure how to do either, nor where to start looking, so I'm hoping someone here can nudge me in the right direction.

Specifically, what I'm hoping to do is take the vanilla zombie body (preferably with penis from Lovers Creatures, or better yet an opportunity to slap on another one I like better) and force it to act like an NPC. The attack and walk animations will be goofy of course, but what I'm more interested in here is having access to the Lovers animations since there are a lot more available for male NPCs than for zombies. My attempts to force the mesh onto an Imperial skeleton in the CS were predictably catastrophic, but unfortunately that's presently the extent of my ingenuity.

So what I'd like is a link to a tutorial or something that explains how I can make an item that'll replace a body with a different one. Examining the zombie body indicates that it's made up of a lot more parts than the NPC body, so I guess as an addition to that I'll need to know how the devil to cram all those floating parts together into something comparable. Trying to search for it here gave me links to either tutorials on how setbody works or how to adapt armour to fit on a different body type, though if there's something obvious I've missed, then sorry 'bout that.

This guy ( http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=1810&pid=32454&highlight=monster+suit#pid32454 ) asked if something like it already existed, but I couldn't find record of anyone getting back to him. Of course, that doesn't mean that nobody did, so also sorry if this exists somewhere already! (And if it doesn't, I guess once I get the hang of this, I can see to it that it does!)

What if you import the zombie into blender along with the male npc body, align it as best as possible with the male NPC body and use Scripts ->Bone Weight Copy after deleting the zombie's mesh weighting data, merging the male upper and lower body, hands and feet and highlighting only the zombie and combined male body?
