Hey there! Welcome to CHILDREN OF SKYRIM, by FastestDogInTheDistrict!

 

This series of mods will begin by addressing the appearance of Nord character creation presets, both male and female. More “FaceGenData” features will be added over time - such as re-worked Town Guards, notable groups such as the Companions, popular NPC’s, brand new followers and Hirelings, Lvl 1 character saves, and MORE!

 

SO – let’s get started eh!

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT THIS MOD DOES:

 

This CHILDREN OF SKYRIM mod changes the Nord Male & Female actor presets (ie: the 10 different faces you see when you cycle through the "Presets" slider during character creation or while using "showracemenu").

 

There are no "required" mods for these presets. The appearance of your new CHILDREN OF SKYRIM presets will vary greatly depending on what face textures, skins, tintmasks, lighting, etc. you are using. For example - as you can see in the images section, I'm currently using Navetsea's textures with my own blending mix for seams, Bella's brows, "The Eyes of Beauty", and even a couple of odds & ends from "Temptress" for females, and Geonox's excellent face mod for males (ENB with those pics was "Fimbulvinter", but I'm looking at changing that for future screenshots). Settings are "Ultra", resolution 1680 x 1050, and ballpark 60fps.

 

 

 

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO:

 

This mod does do not alter your existing skin texture mods, or apply other authors' mods to your game. These new Nord presets are not set to apply makeup tints etc., warpaint, scars, etc. - that's for you to go wild on!

 

SO - What does all this mean?

 

Treat these as being something of a fresh canvas, if you will. There's no hard & fast rules - feel free to tweak & alter your new characters as much & as often as you like, or head straight into the game with one of these new presets right off the shelf! It's up to you!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT THIS MOD DOES:

 

This mod changes the faces of the town guards - the regular guards that patrol the major towns. Have a look as you run around Whiterun, Solitude, Windhelm - any of the main towns, & see what you think of the guards' new looks!

 

 

 

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO:

 

This mod does not change the armour, weapons, mechanics etc. of any of your guards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Head over to Nexus. Simply click the green “Download with Manager” button next to the mods you want, & let NMM do it for you! OR, for manual installation, simply click & drag to contents to the archive to your Skyrim/Data folder.

 

Open NMM, make sure that the mod is activated, and that all plugins are ticked/checked.

 

*IMPORTANT* MAKE SURE THE “NORD PRESETS” PLUGIN IS AT OR NEAR THE TOP OF YOUR LOAD ORDER! This can help to prevent the usual difficulties during character creation, particularly at Helgen.

 

Using other face preset mods? Want Navetsea's Imperials, but FastestDog's Nords? NO PROBLEM! Just install whichever one you want to over-ride the others BELOW the others in your load order.
