ctd when looting necromancer robes

the game immediatelly ctd's whenever i try to loot that particular item even though i haven't used any clothing mods in this playthrough.Any ideas?

get additem menu mod, and try it with different robes, clothes, etc, also check if it works from additem menu and crashes only of off NPCs or entirely.

 

other thing I can think of: there may be missing mesh in the necro robes, missing textures, if you haven't installed any clothing / robe mods then perhaps the files got corrupted, hence they are missing or corrupted. i have also seen similar thing happen on badly translated mods, wrong item / directory names, it causes CTDs.

 

or perhaps you have a very bad mismatch between body type and necro robe type you are using.

 

i would recommend getting some good necro robe replacer mod for your body, if necro robes in the game have missing or corrupted files, then hopefully this will overwrite them and fix the issue.

I just solved a similar issue to this:

 

To test it, see if you're  running into this issue with any male outfit you try to take off. If so: you probably messed up installing (which I did) SoS. You probably didn't install the skeleton properly-- which was the case with mine.  I uninstalled SoS, and then reinstalled it-- my mistake was I thought I installed the skeleton with XPMSE for SOS, which I hadn't; so I *do* remember clicking 'no' to SoS' skeleton.

 

So all the schlongs of skyrim was boneless sausages.
