I am trying to play Skyrim, the original LE not the SE edition, but I just can't. The thing is, I played for over 250 hours on this same rig when it first came out and I have upgraded a few things since then. Something else, when I started playing again (about 2 weeks ago), I played for a while until I got to the point where my I couldn't load a save without crashing - I would get an error about C++ Runtime Error. On this first playthrough, I was playing with the free HD pack and my game was running really smooth. I would get CTDs often, mostly in battles, but even in high density areas, not much lag or jerkiness. So I completely uninstalled and reinstalled everything (even using MO) and went with no HD textures and ran the game on the lowest settings. Everything was smooth when starting the game, but the more areas I explored, the slower and slower (lag) and choppier it got. I got further running smoother using the HD textures, I just don't understand it. I still had the same CTD issues, but much less of them than my first playthrough. Yet, my computer was running hard the entire time, really hard. These are my computer specs (tell me if I need to add more information): OS:Windows 10 - 64 BitProcessor:AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor, 2700 Mhz, 6 Core, 6 Logical ProcessorsGraphics Card:AMD Radeon HD 6670RAM:12 GBAvailable Physical Memory:8.92 GBTotal Virtual Memory:13.8 GBAvailable Virtual Memory:10.4 GB I don't think this is an issue of which mods I am using (I will post if you want me to), when I restarted, I got rid of more than half that I was using on my first playthrough (when the game was running smoother). I just don't understand it completely. Any advice is appreciated. EDIT: On my first playthrough I didn't have the DLC for much of it, but I bought and installed it after I started playing. Are they that much more demanding on my CPU than just the original? What would you recommend me upgrade?

What would you recommend me upgrade? for c++ runtime error, i got same problem. i think it caused by jiub opus quest in soul cairn from Dawnguard DLC, google jiub opus c++ error. there's a video on youtube explaining the solution, basically it tells you to use console to skip the quest

Ok, I have it downloaded, and have used it, but that was before I reinstalled everything. My main issue seems to be my computer, and it's capability to actually run the game properly.

If it's just that in general, install crash fixes and corresponding SKSE plugin, along with ENBoost and corresponding configs.

IIRC i also got this problem even before i got invited by Durak (i use mod to delay quest), you can at least try the solution. And my spec isnt so different in performance from yours (i3 4130, GT 730, 8 GB RAM) and never get any crash (of course after installing anti crash mod and ENBoost) except from problem mentioned above, so i'm sure it's not your PC problem
