House Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Okay, so I first start the game with only the character creator mods enabled since the tutorial is very script heavy and having too many mods enabled during that period can really screw stuff up. I go through the tutorial and exit the cave after you either fight or sneak past the bear. I save it, exit, and turn on all my mods. I load my last save, wait for all my mods to install and register, and play for a while. I eventually save it and turn it off. Once I come back to the game, however, only my earliest of saves want to work, all the others cause a CTD. At first I can load up one of those and then load a later save but eventually even that causes the game to crash. Here's my Papyrus log with a LOOT generated list of my mods and their order:https://pastebin.com/7KUbs1qG I've tried ENBoost and the Crash Fix SKSE plugin. FNIS is giving me no errors, I'm not missing any dependencies that I know of, and (at least according to LOOT) there aren't any conflicts.
azoth1267 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Need bash/merge patches Fairly compact mod list, but you really should merge some of those armor mods. Mostly irrelevant to you i suppose, but you could install and alternate start mod, makes things slightly easier and less buggy/broken. As for actually helping you out though, im not all that sure. Ive got a crap load of mods and fixes for issues big and small, too many to list or remember. That said, could give this a go if you dont have it already, helped me quite a bit. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/? Ive got about 500 or so mods compressed down to 201 esp/esm files and the game is for lack of a better word "stable". Honestly speaking however, it took way way way more time to set up and fix than i would like to admit. Getting well acquainted with xedit, wrye bash, scripting tools and texture/mesh editing software (aka learning and doing work to play a game, woo fun), will save you heart/head ache in the long run. Sorry for the piss weak help.
GeorgiaCav Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 After you follow azoth1267's excellent advice, you should have an alternate start mod installed that lets you skip all the intro stuff. After that it's easy to do the one thing that you should always do if you are having CTD's loading save games: Start a new game every time you start Skyrim. Then, once the new game is up and running (ie. it loads successfully) you can then load your save. It's voodoo but it works. You might also get past the need for an alternate start mod to do this by letting the menu screen come up and then entering the console and entering: coc qasmoke Do this before you choose Load or New Game. It will put you in Skyrim's test cell with a test character. You should then be able to load your save. You can also try any of the various save game cleaners on your saves.
House Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 The Crash Fix plugin didn't work for me. Also, oddly enough, ENBoost caused more problems than it solved. With it enabled the game's physics kept going haywire, especially TBBP stuff.Starting a new game with all my mods enabled while using the 'Skip the Tutorial' mod seems to have worked... to a point. I still get crashes and freezes but it's at least somewhat playable. My game (and saves) don't seem to become unstable until I begin enabling and tweaking the various SexLab plugins using the Mod Config Menu. As such I'm certain it's one of them that's causing the problem. Are any of the ones I'm using known to be problematic / particularly buggy? Thanks for the help so far.EDIT:Okay, it definitely seems to be either 'Defeat' and/or 'Death Alternative'; I'm not sure if it's both or just one. I'm leaning more towards 'Defeat' because just touching some of its options in the MCM can cause my game to crash but at the same time it seems to otherwise work as intended (i.e. my character gets raped on defeat) and afterward, when my game attempts to load a 'Death Alternative' scenario, I get stuck in an infinite loading loop. I'll test it out some more tomorrow.
GeorgiaCav Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Random thoughts: 1. You've got a lot of hair mods. Some of those have played havoc (no pun intended) with my physics setups and caused lots of CTD's. 2. Sorry if I missed it, but you don't seem to have ShowRaceMenu Precache Killer. It's vital if you're messing around with that. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33526/? 3. Are you sure Crashfixes isn't working? It doesn't prevent all crashes, and occasionally it will let you know why the game crashed despite its efforts. 4. I don't see any MCM-problematic mods on your list. That doesn't mean it's not a possible cause. Check Defeat and DA's description pages and make double sure you've got everything both installed and activated in the right order. LOOT isn't always right about Sexlab mods. If you're using MO, its advice is usually sound, but reality-check with the mod authors' description pages. 5. I see SOS esp's on your LO but not SOS's Core .esm. Are you running the Lite version? Try getting the full version. I see it now. Good luck.
House Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 I'm only using a lot of hair mods because the Ultimate NPC Overhaul (UNO) mod requires them. Otherwise I'd only be using one. I don't think its them that's causing this, though. In previous, non-Sexlab play throughs I've used them for UNO and never really had much of a problem. The latest version of the RaceMenu mod seems to have the disable cache stuff integrated into it. Still, I'll try it out. Well, the Crash Fix plugin is working in the sense that it's loading and attempting to do its job, but with or without it I'm still getting the same crashes and freezes.Looking at their pages I'm not missing any of the listed requirements for Defeat or DA and they don't mention needing any particular load order. The clean save I made after uninstalling them in their MCM menus and disabling their .ESMs and .ESPs loads reliably, so it is definitely one (or both) of them.
Hypnotik Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 There is a mod that "automates" the loading process previously described by GeorgiaCav: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78557/? It's not supported anymore but from what I tested, it still works well. I don't know if it will work for your specific issue, but it definitely solves the crashes on load caused by too many animations.
