NPC Height control greyed out

I have SexLab 1.6.2 installed but the animation control for "even npc height" is greyed out, even though it is not selected. What happens is that the NPC ALWAYS changes height and then is stuck at the height from that point on.  Any idea what could be overriding this? Everything else works fine. Could it be interference by HDT highheels?
