Uninstalled Tetrachromatic ENB & ENB files, now get a CTD on load

so i uninstalled my ENB. (<-- for perfomance reasons, i was running vivid weathers + ENB, which brought my rig to it's knees ~25-30 fps avg, dips below 10.... -.-')

i used the "ENB and ReShade Manager-4143-4-3-1" to remove all of the ENB files, now i CTD on load. (the manager shoudn't be at fault, it literally just saves time by deleting the ENB files for me)

Tetrachromatic ENB files have also been removed.

i suspect that some mod/plugin is looking for the ENB files and can't find them, but i honestly don't know which one:

1) i checked mutliple times and can't find one that depends on/interacts with ENB.

2) none of my mods should cause an issue --> i remember that i had some SMIM + ENB related stuff, but i removed that too.

everything should work, but doesn't.

so now i'm kinda lost...

logs should be attached (Papyrus, apropos, SexLabDebug...cause y not?)

walking you guys through the problem seems kinda pointless... but anyway, here's exactly what happens:

i start the game, works fine. get into main menu no problem. attempt to load my last save: so far so good. loading screen appears, finishes loading. CTD outta nowhere! (same for new game)

check your skyrim directory i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim

delete directory enbseries

delete files d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe

also delete any files starting with enb*.*

but i think your problem is not related to enb removal, i suggest u download tesedit and run it thru your load order see if it loads without any errors first, next are u using crash fixes http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/?? if u are i suggest switch to ssme http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/? and see if u still get ctd errors.

idk i had the same problems too starting a new game and keep getting ctd too when i used crash fixes but when i switch back to ssme its more stable now i dont get ctd on load or after playing a couple of mins?

i start the game, works fine. get into main menu no problem. attempt to load my last save: so far so good. loading screen appears, finishes loading. CTD outta nowhere! (same for new game)

little addition: i searched goolge for similar problems, couldn't find anything useful...

check your skyrim directory i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim

delete directory enbseries

delete files d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe

also delete any files starting with enb*.*

but i think your problem is not related to enb removal, i suggest u download tesedit and run it thru your load order see if it loads without any errors first, next are u using crash fixes http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/?? if u are i suggest switch to ssme http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/? and see if u still get ctd errors.

idk i had the same problems too starting a new game and keep getting ctd too when i used crash fixes but when i switch back to ssme its more stable now i dont get ctd on load or after playing a couple of mins?

i deleted all ENB related files, as mentioned. yeah, i use crash fixes, just tried the ssme stuff, same result.

If that is the case, you can simply use the ENBoost feature of ENB and see if that allows you to load without crashing.

Unrelated.. I think there was a sextreme all in one. That would have saved you a lot of ESP space. I think, alternatively, you can also merge all of those files.

You are most likely receiving the crash on load because your ENB was handling your memory allocation. When you removed it, you may have reverted to the skyrim default memory allocation. This allocation is not sufficient for modern load orders. You can remedy this by adding ENBoost.

Alternatively you should probably add the SKSE preloader http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75795/?

And make sure to enable USE osallocators in the crash fixes ini file.

This would be highly recommended to do.

This should resolve your memory allocation issues.

If you go to the crash fixes home page.. this is the instruction on how to use the file. Otherwise it is not installed as it should be for your system.

There are other things that can also cause FPS drop like that. A few examples would be

- Conflicting assets around the college of winterhold area... make sure you do not have 2 mods that alter that area.

- an npc or follower that is not using the XPMSE skeleton when you are using hdt physics or custom anims. This can occur with npcs that use customized folders. Simply make sure to drop an xpmse skeleton in their custom folders overwriting the old skeleton. (backup original)

- editing the skyrim.ini update budgets excessively can cause this.. but if you did not mess with this, you need not worry.

i determined it's one of my graphics mods, so that's not as big a deal as i thought it was! just gonna narrow it down now.

dunno why it wouldn't load yesterday, when i tried disabling my graphics mods...maybe just overlooked something?

well anyway, now i'm gonna just activate them until i get the crash, maybe i'll need some more advice then...

- Conflicting assets around the college of winterhold area... make sure you do not have 2 mods that alter that area.

- an npc or follower that is not using the XPMSE skeleton when you are using hdt physics or custom anims. This can occur with npcs that use customized folders. Simply make sure to drop an xpmse skeleton in their custom folders overwriting the old skeleton. (backup original)

- editing the skyrim.ini update budgets excessively can cause this.. but if you did not mess with this, you need not worry.

are u using this hdtSkyrimMemPatch.dll? if yes try disabling it too

not using it

1. Install ENB once again. Preferably in manual mode, by copying files directly to the install directory.

2. Set 'Use Speedhack without graphics=true"

3. Start your game and see if your CTDs stop.

4. If it does, delete all the files you copied. The best way to do this is do nothing between copying the files and starting the game. Once you get back to the desktop, right-click anywhere on it and click 'Undo copy'. This will remove the last set of files you copied, which are the ENB files. If you have done any other file operation, you'll have to repeat the above steps.

5. Once you have successfully removed the ENB files, go to 'My documents', find and delete Skyirm.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. Open the game launcher and it should re-detect your graphics settings from scratch.

This should fix thing for a bit. New games should always load, the fact that they aren't point to a graphics misconfiguration.

EDIT: tried it, didn't do much, however it starts fine with enb. however² : in the college of winterhold, when i tried looking in the direction of winterhold, my fps dropped below 1, looking at the college gave me fps above 120...

fps should be mostly related to textures, imo perhaps u should think about compressing textures or using 1k textures, remember with win10 we are limited to only 4gb sigh...

i determined it's one of my graphics mods, so that's not as big a deal as i thought it was! just gonna narrow it down now.

dunno why it wouldn't load yesterday, when i tried disabling my graphics mods...maybe just overlooked something?

well anyway, now i'm gonna just activate them until i get the crash, maybe i'll need some more advice then...

question: that doesn't apply to SSE, right? (it's been super stable and generally working great for me so far [~100 mods])

glad everything is working for u, yea sse runs in native 64bits memory it's not an issue, but looks like microsoft is finally gonna fix the 32bit directx problem with win10 64, expected rollout within these couple of months woot.

just hoping the skse team is not giving up on the skse 64 ...

If you're having such severe issues with FPS (I assume the numbers are with ENB running) and you eliminate the skeleton issue (which can cause heavy FPS drop too), you have to restore your Skyrim folder (NOT the data folder) to game default as much as possible, and have the game create a fresh set of .ini files again. The recommended ENB setup is usually quite different from the default setup.

There are other things that can also cause FPS drop like that. A few examples would be

sooo...i figured out that Vivid Landscapes and Skyrim Flora Overhaul are cusing CTD on load...no idea why though...inis should be fine, Vivid Landscapes has the non ENB patch, SFO has the required ini edits.... super weird -.-

EDIT: it gets weirder: SMIM, Noble Skyrim, SFO and Vivid Landscapes cause CTD

reinstalled all of them, no change...suuupeeer weird...
