JinTetra Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Sorry if this has been answered before; I had absolutely no luck searching through the forums. My understanding of Defeat is that, by default, you're supposed to be able to hold the strafe key to initiate a "resist" when being assaulted by an NPC. A bar is supposed to pop up that you then fill by alternating strafe keys in order to successfully resist. The problem I'm having is that this entire function appears to be absent in my game. No amount of strafing ever brings up the bar. Changing the default from the strafe key to the attack button does not solve the problem, nor does checking off "auto-resist" in the MCM.What am I doing wrong? I KNOW I'm supposed to include a debug report or something, but I'm not exaggerating when I say I have NO idea what that is or how to get it without someone telling me. I'm completely tech illiterate.
Lifariz Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 There are conditions where RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!Sorry, I had to say it. lol Anyways, there are certain conditions where resistance is disabled. Look up your MCM menu and carefully read and understand everything. It will take some time, yes, but you want to commit on using defeat so there you go... The MCM settings will basically tell you when resistance is applicable/inapplicable/enabled/disabled.
JinTetra Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 I'll take your advice, but I doubt that's the problem. On one of the tabs for Defeat in the MCM, there's an option to click and temporarily display the resist bar, but that isn't working either; I click it and it won't display anything. Side note: the specific issue I'm having is that I'm being randomly assaulted by traditionally non-hostile NPCs whenever I'm in town. Is that to do with Defeat, or is that another mod entirely? Is the resist bar something that only comes up when the assault comes after combat? It's a thought, but that still wouldn't explain why the resist bar won't display when I click the "temporarily display resist bar" option.
