tomomi1922 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Skyrim came with so many prominent bodyshapes like CBBE and UNP. And there were even more later on. In Skyrim, there are so many nice armor sets. Some of them only work with a certain body mesh. I went with UNP for the nude body because it looked more natural than CBBE (this is before Bodyslide existed). But I couldn't pass up CBBE armors, especially this mod that breaks the entire Vanilla or custom outfits into tiny pieces where we can mix and match to our heart content. And there came a solution: a mod that gives CBBE ring, UPN ring, you name it. What the rings do is to hide your actual body mesh and give your body that particular mesh. Suddenly, the whole world's outfits work for you!Unlike Fallout 4, CBBE is a monopoly and every outfit creator is under pressure to provide a CBBE convert (or someone is kind enough to convert them to CBBE). But still, it would be nice to try out other body system like Janebod, Wonder Body, and EVB. I tried creating such a ring. But low and behold, I don't know any way to turn off the original nude body, and I see 2 bodies clipping each other. I am pretty amateur at this. But I think it is possible since a few Vanilla head gears can turn off the face (or hair) to avoid clipping. Can someone drop me a hint? Currently I just create an outfit that occupies the ring slot and have the mesh and texture of a nude body.
jrok72 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Bodyslide supports the bodies you wish to look at. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25/? Gopher also gave us this tutorial on how to convert clothing to the body you wish to use.
tomomi1922 Posted May 14, 2017 Author Posted May 14, 2017 That is totally not the point. You always have to go with ONE body system. CBBE or Janebod, etc... and that goes with ALL the outfits. I have been using Bodyslide since it came out, I know it can convert and mimic other bodies. But mimicking the look isn't the same as the system. I for once use CBBE Vanilla as base body, meaning I do like Vanilla body shape but I want CBBE so I can do minor tweak and edit. But CBBE Vanilla is not Vanilla. You try to put a Vanilla based outfit (like Harness) onto a CBBE body? You will see texture being cut off, one of the nipple is near the belly button. So I appreciate your response, but Bodyslide in this case is not the answer. I am also aware that Bodyslide does support Janebod and ... one other body system. Janebod still has tons of sliders but they fundamentally work very differently. Janebod's texture placement is very off too and thus will mess things up if the character mix CBBE and Janebod's skin and outfit. Think of it this way, if I am to make a video showcasing new Janebod body, I can't just create a CBBE body that looks like Janebod and deceive viewers that it is exactly that Janebod the creator made.
Guest Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 You can still use bodyslide to import your own body and converting clothing and armors for it. I don't exactly see the issue if bodyslide works for other body types. Do you want to quickly convert between your body and CBBE? If that's the case then just assign a ring to the body mesh that you want and that's it! You would still have to convert the armor For your desired body though so that's still a pointless thing to do (making the ring that equips your desired mesh). I don't use CBBE at all and this is what I do using bodyslide and it's works well for me. The body I use is FFB (foot fetishism body) and I don't have an issue deceiving users with saying I use one body type when I actually aren't.
tomomi1922 Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 The issue is I am trying to learn how to mod a particular tricky outfit (the nude outfit) so that it can replace the original nude outfit of that ONE character just by equipping a piece of item. But unlike AE ring (which is very useful when I strip all equip nodes beside BODY), I am trying to create something actually "overwrites" the game internal's skin texture. So, if I am wearing an EVB nude mesh/skin, then wearing any EVB outfit (that reveals skin) then it doesn't show up with CBBE skin (by default, and all jacked up). I just used EVB as an example. I fully understand that I can convert outfits using Bodyslide to CBBE, but that is not the point here. I understand how to use Bodyslide and I stated I used Bodyslide very early on. While I am very happy with how my CBBE system works perfectly and all outfits are converted to CBBE in my game, I want to create something not fully dependent to one system. Honestly the mesh doesn't really matter all that much until the character goes nude, just the skin texture. For example, I tried out Janebod on Bodyslider. It has a "weird" setup. But it dawns to me that the creator has all the interest in keeping the shape more natural. Look at Breast section on CBBE sliders, we have more control, but certain values just make the breasts look ... so fake (not even plastic surgery fake, more iike bad 3d model fake). Or check this out http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18529/?Kinda hard to create with CBBE.
jrok72 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 After looking at the link, I see your concerns. Sadly I have no real skill with texture issues. When I could, I extracted the provided BSA's and placed the wanted files into the Characters specific folder's. It did get time consuming when the same character/item was in several different mods. I did this to just make Load Order less of an issue. Maybe I should have edited the .esp? Lot less data space used. To work on personal picture files I mostly use paint.net. But haven't tested it to much with .dds files. Mostly just to increase size and change minor color issues, hoping it will help looks. That has been several years ago. I know others have better advice and experience. After further research I now know you have much better advice and experience!!
