Help with Bodyslide

Hi all,

I'm new to the site and also modding.

I was wondering if it is possible with Bodyslide to only create a custom body type for my PC and not edit the body of most of the other NPC's in the game?

Thanks for the help :)

Your PC will use a custom body type only if they are of a unique/custom race with its own assets and there are no other NPC in the game using that set of assets.

The other way to do it is to use the in-game sliders to customise the PC body in Racemenu, as long as the armor set is also UUNP-compatible and has the requisite slider sets, the armor will also shape itself accordingly else the new body will be visible only when naked.

In both cases you have to build the bodies by yourself first. For custom races some manual work is required, to move the body files (\meshes\actors\character\character assets\) to the race's mesh folders.

I gave it a shot using a custom race, using the temptress race. Unfortunately the body I made for the race looked completely fucked. No idea what I did wrong with it.

I tried the custom race method, but didn't like it either. I found a workaround that seems to work fine for me:

1. Create a BodySlide preset which has the shape you want for your NPCs at 0 weight, and the body you want for your PC at 100 weight. Batch Build your clothes to that body.

2. Install this patcher: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50846/?

3. To use it, nip into the data folder, locate SkyProc Patches, run the "DebugNoBOSS" version, and set it to turn all female NPC weights to 0. Let it run and create the patch, then enable it in your mod manager.

4. Create your character at weight 100 - voila!

To my knowledge, this works fine. I tried using a mod before that dynamically scans and randomises weights, but it was making all my NPCs turn into fractal monstrosities. This method seems to have no problems - maybe it's the cause of every CTD I've ever had, but I can't imagine it is.
