DbleMinded Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 I recently installed 3 mods. However one of my saves wouldn't load with the new mods so I uninstalled 2 of them, the 2 with 'creature' in the mod names. Since that time all deer and elk are frozen in place and there are no random dragon spawns. I tried to reinstall the 2 mods and tested with another character save and the deer and elk would move as normal, but there were still no random dragon spawns. Uninstalled them again and again deer and elk are all frozen in place. Since I installed all 3 at the same time I don't know which is causing the problems. I could live with frozen deer I suppose, but for me having no random dragon spawns is a game breaker. They are all animation mods so I don't know how or why they'd affect dragon spawns, but since I've installed them no random dragons have appeared on any save I've tested. What disturbs me most is even though this began when I installed these mods, it did not solve the problem when I uninstalled them. The worst thing is it seems to affect all my saves, even those I never loaded while the mods were installed. I used NMM to install/uninstall the mods. I checked manually to see if everything was removed and as far as I can tell it was. Generally I love playing with mods, but it's times like these that make me absolutely hate it, heh. If you need my load order or papyrus log then I'll add them tomorrow. It's late, I'm tired and frustrated and just want to go to bed. The 3 mods I installed are: SLAL Anub Creature 3.b SLAL Creature Animations by Sailing Rebel (SRB) v1.0 SLAL NibblesAnims 3.5
DbleMinded Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 I was able to fix the problem with the frozen deer/elk by the simple expedient of deleting the 'deer' folder in skyrim/data/meshes/actors. This affected only one other mod which was the 'True elk of Skyrim' mod and that was easly fixed by reinstalling that mod. I'm still working on the dragon issue. I know that there's a point in the main quest line which turns off random dragon encounters. While I am passed that point I'm hoping doing a main quest will jump start the random dragon encounters again. I see no reason why that would actually solve the problem, but it gives me a goal to achieve, and while some of you guys would probably know if that would work, I certainly don't. It beats sitting around twiddling my thumbs.
