Removing this hood mesh

i use the shrouded cowl replacer from http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2260/?tab=2&navtag=/ajax/modimages/?user=0|:|id=2260 and i'd like to know if it is possible to remove the hood part? i like the rest of the mesh, but the hood looks a bit ugly imo (see screenshot). the main reason why i use the clothing is to make the bandoleer look like it fits, since it is much larger than my character.

I looked at the mesh, and it is not that simple to remove it would need a lot of remodeling around the neck.
