sexxxyfox Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Is there an easy way to give NPC items across mods. For example. I want an NPC to use some armor and hair (head) items from a big mod of gear/items I used. The NPC is in a building. But when I give them these non-base items, they disappear as soon as I load the game up. Even though I have the mod with the items, loading before the mod with the location and person. I guess I could always "invis potion" and pickpocket it onto them....but I wanted to do a whole set of NPCS from within TES. Thanks in advance.
Guest Donkey Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Talkie toaster companions share, Is that what you mean ?? How do you want to accomplsih this from within oblivion itself or through Tes Constroction set ??
sexxxyfox Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 I assume you mean make the .esp with the items into and esm? Never done that, but I'll give it a try, it makes sense. Basically, the items come from Apachii Goddess Store. I was hoping to added the cool hair and outfits to characters in another mod with locations. Create some tough and sexy looking guards, as well as some sexy slaves.
sexxxyfox Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Worked! Used Wyre Bash to make it a ESM. Thanks!
lakawana_shack Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I duplicate the item in the CS, this adds that new form id to the active file. That way you won't need to mess with esm's or anything. In detail: load both the item.esp and the npc.esp, with the npc.esp as the active file. Find the item you want to add to the npc.esp (for example aaBlackShoes)edit it and change the formid name to something like aaaBlackShoes, it will ask if you want to create a new formid, choose yes. After that, if you load just the npc.esp, you'll find the item aaaBlackShoes there. I've done this with Apachii's store as well. IMO, this method works better if you want to add items from several different esp's into one, instead of creating a bunch of masters to tie to one mod. The esm method works better if you're going to be adding items from one mod into a bunch of other mods. Apachii's store is massive and a terrific resource for items, so I would probably have gone with the esm route as well if I hadn't needed just a couple items from it.
