Serana, Chasing Echoes

Hello, Im on Chasing Echoes (Dawnguard) at the moment. At this point Serana is supposed to cast soul trap on the player in order to enter the soul cairn. However after Serana is engaging the casting animation no spell is being cast.
Did someone experience an similar issue? How to fix this?
