tack82 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 So I guess I hit a turning point recently when I was browsing for mods, found some sweet looking heels annnnnnnd it cost money... Figured, if I want something might as well make it myself. I've been interested in creating my own mods for a while now, glanced at a few Creation kit tutorials and such. But I'm finally ready to jump in. I have a few questions. Where do I start? I found a Guide on Reddit that shows you how to start using the Creation Kit but it ultimately focuses on dungeons, locations, and quests. If I must go through those basic Creation Kit steps to learn how it works, where do I go after that to start making custom shoes? I hope I'm not sounding impatient here Its just I'll mainly be focusing on making shoes and I haven't had much luck finding out how. So yes, some direction in where to start would be helpful.
Guest Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 For sure you have to get at least the basics of Creation Kit. Youtube is full of tutorials. Try them, just to get confident with the user interface and the logic. Then ask, also on this site, you will receive help. But in case you want to do Armors (an "Armor" is everything that can be wear in Skyrim), then probably you need to be confident also with a 3D tool (Blender or 3D Studio) and with the NIF format and NifSkope.

I'll definitely be sticking to "Armor". I'm guessing the best way to start with Blender would be beginners guides online and tutorial videos? I'll make sure to study the NIF format and NifSkope! Thanks for giving me some guidance here! I've found a few resources for modders like this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15982/? Would working with premade 3D models like that be a smart way to learn the system?
