Sparowe Chan Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I found a mod on DeviantArt that someone had made for Skyrim and if I remember correctly they also had versions up for Oblivion and FNV as well. Anyways I can get the mod to load up just fine in game, choose the specified race via character creation, etc. Well when I loaded up TexBlend to try and match the included face texture for Elizabeth to the one currently on my body I was greeted with the following: Now, personally, I've never seen this type of UV layout used anywhere else in Skyrim as far as race or character presets go, so I'm pretty much at a stand still as to how I'd go about fixing this. The authors description even states that "you can easily get her skin tone to match whatever body texture you are currently using via TexBlend". So I first tried to do so, which didn't work out lol. Then I took the neck textures provided by texblend, as well as a few of my own that I've made for other blends and loaded them along with the face texture int photoshop and did my best to rotate the neck textures to match the angle of the face texture. Then I tried to just edit the head mesh itself in Nifskope to direct it to use the head texture I was previously using, one that already matched my skin tone and since the UV Map is different, well it made my character, lets just say "Sloth" from the Goonies is a supermodel compared to the results I got haha. Has anybody encountered something like this before and if so, what did you do? How would I go about getting my body and head textures to match if there's nothing I can do with the UV Map itself? I've never created my own skin textures from scratch before and I can't find any videos regarding making them from scratch for Skyrim. I've only ever done basic "clone stamp" stuff whenever I had to tweak the TexBlend files to match a skin texture I was using that wasn't already available for the program (Graphene Block as an example) Other than the glaring difference in skin tones, the provided head mesh and textures for Elizabeth are really well done. They look great in game and I was very pleased with the fact that my character was showing no signs of the "blocky chin or nose", probably because the head mesh has more polys? Any help on this would be very much appreciated! I've provided a link to the authors DA page where I got the mod from. http://yscsn.deviantart.com/art/Elizabeth-race-for-Skyrim-568664554
Guest Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Hello. The "layout" of the texture depends on the Mesh (the UV map is defined in the mesh.) I suppose you have the head for your character/NPC with the original texture. Just find the NIF that is used, open it with NIFSkope, and find the texture used. Then open the original and the one you want to use. And using an image editing program (GIMP, Photoshop, etc.) try to move/remap the new one to the original layout.
meme supreme Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 After doing that/as an alternative to doing that you can edit the UV map from Nifskope too. It'll be pretty time consuming but it works.
