Wanting to start to Play Skyrim

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Though I pre-ordered this game, I have yet to sit down and really play it. It's been sitting on the shelf collecting dust. Busy with RL.

Last two days played it for about an hour in total and would like to play some more this weekend but first would like to mod it. As it is, I can't really enjoy it. Main killer is the interface, it is

Any advice welcome. Stuff that I like.

- Interface for Skyrim is abysmal. Is there anything I should get to improve the controls. ANYTHING, PLEASE!! I guess there is no mod that makes it behave like Oblivion. I have a keyboard with 100+ keys, I would like to use. :P

- Camera is awful. Anything recommended for those who like to walk/run/fight and look at their character. Also any mods I should get to allow to make video making better.

- Dance and animation collection

- Body type: Big breast, large ass and long thunder legs. Athletic build is nice. I tried a little both ADEC and CBBE and more inclined to go for CBBE as ADEC appears t have triangular breasts on my PC.

- Outfit Stock Replacer for suggested body.

- Anything else anyone might think to make the game more enjoyable.

Thanks

 Grab "Nexus Mod Manager".

INTERFACE/CAMERA/ETC.: Try browsing "STEP" maybe. I haven't tweaked this aspect much, but I did get some good tips from this guide: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11/?tab=2&navtag=/ajax/modimages/?user=0|:|id=11

I would recommend that guide as a good source of game improvements in any case! I can say without any hyperbole that by game looks & feels a million bazillion times better thanks to that guide - and it was already looking good! :)

It may also be helpful to browse Skyrim Nexus by category for some of this info - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/categories/

STOCK CLOTHING: Good support for CBBE on this. Caliente has made a fully compatible clothing replacer, plus some armours - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12273/?tab=2&navtag=/ajax/modimages/?user=0|:|id=12273

There's also a TON of texture mods for clothing & virtually everything else, also lighting, etc. Have a browse around Nexus, maybe also check out the "What Mod is This? thread here on these forums (even though it's time-consuming to browse the whole thing, if you're starting from scratch that might be a good idea).

Bear in mind that you may go through several installations of the game before you settle on a setup you're fully happy with! Enjoy!

what a request, easy question, hard to answer...

all my knowledge about modusing at skyrim, which one will work which one will doesn't work are growing since release. a colleque of mine ask me how he can mod his game to have the same look as i have. he want some tutorial from me as a txt file.

i said to him, sry this is to much to explain. over 3 months of heavy modding experience...

if you doesn't like the interface, have a test with;

skyUI

iHud

categorised favorites menue

you'll need scriptDragon and skese, to use this.

i'm not a friend of NMM and steamworkshop, you can install easily mods for sure, but you don't lear how the mod will work with your client. there are two ways atm;

the easy way of mod using like NMM and SteamWS or the little bit complicate way by manually installing.

but with the second way, you will learn mor about the behavoir of mods and this give you the abillity to fix some errors by yourself.

skyrim is a awesome single player sandbox in a fascinating ancient world and i will never the vanilla version of that again. :ugly:

welcome to your personal version of skyrim :)

but beware, this is only the beginning, maybe in a few weeks or months you client become more like this.

:)Thank you Fastest

The STEP pdf file is a blessing. Yeah I will without a doubt take a greater look at it when I have more time. Already found BOSS through the pdf. :P Never crossed my mind to search for it.

I am inclined to use CBBE also just shame I can't find a nice collection of armour or stock replacer.

Thanks Sbire,

I am also a no fan for steam or NMM. Both are awful. :D I am going to be using "Mod Organizer". Something I wish I had began with oblivion but was to lazy to reinstall everything for it. Can't live without it.

Now just dance mod. Unable to find a place to get Dance Synchronizator TES5 version. And ofc a good camera mod.

Like the above said, definitely use Wrye Bash. The version for Skyrim is called smash, actually.

For the UI, I use SkyUI and I'm very happy with it. For the favorites, keep in mind that you can bind items from the favorites menu to number keys like you could in Oblivion. I'm just mentioning it because I didn't find out until I'd played for about 50 hours. I don't think it was mentioned in the help anywhere. It makes the game so much easier for me.

For textures, I'm currently running Skyrim HD2k. I haven't tried Bethesda's official pack, but as I understand it, their pack is complete, while HD2k is not. HD2k has higher resolutions, though, so if your computer can handle it, definitely try. I have an AMD 6870 1GB and I manage the full size textures fine. I'm mentioning that because the author says you should have 1.25 GB to run the full size pack, because that's what he tests it one. It isn't necessarily true.

Thanks,

Didn't like "Wrye Bash" on Oblivion. Might try it here might not. Still haven't had a chance to try it out.

I seem to always get my free time wasted on other RL issues. Oh well, not a big deal.

I recommend using the following if you decide to use companions or a horse:

Follower Trap Safety - This mod prevents your AI followers from setting off traps. I've deftly avoided trip wires and pressure plates only to be killed when Lydia blunders them through, setting them off. Given how incredibly clumsy the Skyrim AI is, and how you do not have fine control over your companions, I've found that Follower Trap Safety is a must--- especially when there are quests where you have no choice but have an NPC accompany you as a follower.

Convenient Horses - Like your companions, the horses in Skyrim are incredibly dumb as well--- or incredibly brave depending on how you look at it because they'll rush blindly into combat. Replacing dead horses gets expensive! Convenient Horses make horses significantly less frustrating to use and actually so much more useful such that it's actually fun and productive to ride everywhere versus fast travelling. With Convenient Horses, horses have inventories, can be called using a horn from anywhere, their response to threats can be changed, their looks and colouring can be changed, players can harvest and talk to NPCs while mounted and a whole lot more!

Ultimate Follower Overhaul - While UFO doesn't give you fine tactical control over your companions, it gives you plenty of practicality. You can have up to 15 followers, control their inventories, level them up without a level cap, teach them spells, have them ride with you (UFO is fully compatible with Convenient Horses!) and much more.
