Hyperglyph Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Saw somebody ask about getting the mod to work properly with the Steam version they'd bought. Since I got my game the same way, I wrote a half-assed tutorial. Figured I'd clean it up a bit and give it its own thread. You'll need this map of the costume slots: https://docs.google....tpphTzg/pubhtml (I didn't make it, btw) You'll also need the hogehoge DLC tool and 1 legitimately purchased costume-only DLC (So, not Mai, Naotora, or Tropical Paradise):http://www.freestepd...e-6#post-328682 You might need to update the tool, or find an up to date file5lr.dat file (otherwise it won't be able to add enough costume slots). I found one a while back, but I can't upload it for some reason. You'll also need to edit the DLC Tool's CharactersInfo file and the default.rst file (Both of those can be opened in Notepad). Notice how each fighter in those files has a number of costume slots after them? You'll need to change those limits so that the tool can create enough slots for the mod. Don't forget that the default.rst file's slots are 0-based (i.e. CharactersInfo Hitmoi has 40 slots, default.rst Hitomi has 39). Again, I wasn't able to upload my own files for some reason, but if you want to just copy & paste the following text into them... it should work (and save you some time). CharactersInfo // NAME = ID, Sex, # of slotsEIN = 3, Male, 20AKIRA = 31, Male, 20ELIOT = 14, Male, 20GENFU = 6, Male, 20ZACK = 0, Male, 20JACKY = 41, Male, 20JANNLEE = 2, Male, 20BASS = 9, Male, 20BAYMAN = 24, Male, 20HAYATE = 11, Male, 20BRAD = 19, Male, 20RAIDOU = 46, Male, 20RIG = 29, Male, 20HAYABUSA = 4, Male, 20LEON = 8, Male, 15AYANE = 13, Female, 50HELENA = 7, Female, 50KASUMI = 5, Female, 50CHRISTIE = 20, Female, 50KOKORO = 10, Female, 50SARAH = 32, Female, 25TINA = 1, Female, 50NAOTORA = 47, Female, 20NYOTENGU = 44, Female, 46PAI = 33, Female, 25HITOMI = 21, Female, 50PHASE4 = 43, Female, 46HONOKA = 45, Female, 41MARIE = 42, Female, 46MILA = 30, Female, 50MOMIJI = 39, Female, 50LISA = 15, Female, 50RACHEL = 40, Female, 50LEIFANG = 12, Female, 50ALPHA152 = 16, Female, 31MAI= 48, Female, 7 default.rst pathcharacterEIN191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterAKIRA191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterELIOT191hairstyles1131filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterGENFU191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterZACK191hairstyles01filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterJACKY191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterJANNLEE191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterBASS191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterHAYATE191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterBRAD191hairstyles1131filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterBAYMAN191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterRAIDOU191hairstyles01filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterRIG191hairstyles01filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterHAYABUSA191hairstyles01filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterLEON141hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterAYANE491hairstyles11314151filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterHELENA491hairstyles112141filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterKASUMI491hairstyles1131415161filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterCHRISTIE491hairstyles113161filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterKOKORO491hairstyles1121314151filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterSARAH241hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterTINA491hairstyles1141filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterNYOTENGU451hairstyles112131415161filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterPAI241hairstyles1121filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterHITOMI491hairstyles11214151filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterPHASE4451hairstyles112131filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterHONOKA401hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterMARIE451hairstyles112131filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterMILA491hairstyles1141filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterMOMIJI491hairstyles1121filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterLISA491hairstyles1141filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterRACHEL491hairstyles1121filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterLEIFANG491hairstyles1121415161filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterALPHA152301hairstyles1121filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PcharacterNAOTORA191hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--PMAI61hairstyles11filesdefault.---Cdefault.--P Okay, now that that's all set up, here we go. First, launch DOA and go to the character select screen. Find the fighter you want to add costumes for and select them. Notice the slot numbers below the costume select wheel? These numbers are the slots for each costume. Find the costume you want to replace (Remember, some of the modded swimsuits are tweaks of already existing ones... and should go in those slots. e.g. Sarah already has a slot for Sarah's Diver bikini, it's costume 14). Once you've found the costume, make a note of the slot. Then, in the mod's Autolink -> Fighter's name folder (e.g. Autolink -> SARAH) find which folder contains the modded costume that you want to put in that slot. Rename that folder to the correct slot number. (e.g. The mod ships with Sarah's version of Sarah's Diver bikini in Autolink -> SARAH -> 18 but, in my game, Sarah's Diver bikini is listed as slot 14... so I change the folder name from 18 to 14.) Repeat that process for all the mod's costumes. Remember that most of the new costumes aren't redundant (e.g. Sarah already HAD a slot for her Diver Bikini... so we just overwrote it) and will need NEW slots unless you want to overwrite whatever costume is in the slot you pick. With that done, it's time to actually unlock these costume slots by adding them as DLC. If you've never used hogehoge's DLC tool before, I recommend you Google around for a tutorial or read through the slightly outdated one I've linked to below: https://www.undertow.club/threads/doa5lr-how-to-use-mods-in-the-steam-version.3225/ Pay special attention to that bit about including the costumes that were originally included in the dlc if you still want them. Assuming that you now know what you're doing with it... Create a new DLC and add a costume for each slot that you DON'T already own. Skip the LAST slot because the mod already adds it. Remember that the in-game and Autolink costume slots start from 1 (i.e. 01, 02, 03, etc) but the DLC tool builds slots starting from 0 (i.e. 0, 1, 2, etc.) SO... let's say that in-game Sarah has costumes in slots 1 to 14. That means I need to add DLC costumes starting at 15 - 1 (a.k.a. 14). Don't forget to add the mod's .TMC, .TMCL, .--P, .--C, .--HL and .--H files from the costume you want in that slot. Using Sarah's Diver Bikini as an example, the files to look for in Autolink -> SARAH are:DIVER (SARAH).--C DIVER (SARAH).--P DIVER (SARAH).TMC DIVER (SARAH).TMCL DIVER (SARAH)_001.--H DIVER (SARAH)_001.--HL Remember to add only one costume per slot (i.e. You don't need to add the DIVER (SARAH)_002 files or the TAN ones). Whatever you add will be the costume's default detail and the mod's Autolinked costumes (topless, tan etc) will show up as the other details. Note on maximum number of costumes: DLC's have a 256 slot limit. In the tool, you'll see this as "Characters(255)" above the Load State button. This means that if you want to add all the costumes for all the fighters (this mod has more than 256), you'll need to buy additional costume-only DLC. However, if you don't care about having every single one, you can easily delete some slots (starting with the highest numbers) and move whatever costumes you actually WANT into their folders. Note on destructible costumes: The .PHYD file is required for destructible costumes to work. Since the DLC tool cannot pack this, the costumes you add through it will NOT be destructible. This can be partially fixed by adding the PHYD files using the lnk_reshuffle tool (which is a whole different topic). Keep in mind that the costume's alternate details (the ones added by Autolink) WILL be destructable since they use the Autolinked .PHYD file. So... here's the complete process from start to finish using Sarah as an example. I am adding the mod's Sarah costumes. Checking the mod's folders, I see that only costume 18 is actually a "Sarah" costume. It's her Diver bikini. Checking the game, I see that I already have the Diver bikini and its in slot 14 (which is her last slot). So, I rename folder 18 to 14. Then, I rename all of the other folders to slots above 14. (i.e. 15, 16, 17, etc) because (as I just saw) slots 01 - 14 are already taken. Next, I open the DLC tool and create costume slots starting at 14 (since the tool counts slots from 0, not 1... and 15 - 1 = 14). To make sure the costumes I'm adding match the Autolink costumes, I drag the files from the renamed Autolink folders into the DLC tool's slots. (So, Autolink costume 15 goes in DLC tool costume 14, then 16 in 15, then 17 in 16, etc.) AGAIN, remember to NOT include any slots you already have AND to NOT include the fighter's LAST costume slot (the nude body) because the mod ALREADY HAS A DLC THAT ADDS THAT SLOT. Lastly, I pack my DLC using the tool and add it to the game... and I'm done! On a side note, make sure you have a .txt file called NAME in your Autolink directory. Here's a copy-paste of mine in case you need to make one. NAME.txt ZACKTINAJANNLEEEINHAYABUSAKASUMIGENFUHELENALEONBASSKOKOROHAYATELEIFANGAYANEELIOTLISAALPHA152BRADCHRISTIEHITOMIRTMBAYMANRIGMILAAKIRASARAHPAIAYANE_BOSSHAYATE_BOSSKASUMI_BOSSHAYABUSA_BOSSMOMIJIRACHELJACKYMARIEPHASE4NYOTENGUHONOKARAIDOUNAOTORA That's it and happy modding. (Oh, and can someone, anyone give me a link to the .CT files or the source that the mod's BeachTool uses? I want to change its hotkeys to ones that don't overlap with Steam, GeDoSaTo & my own CPU-only Versus hack.)
