ModEnthusiast Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I was hoping some you knowledgeable types would be able to help me out, as I've been getting contradictory information elsewhere. The game Beats Blade Haruka interests me a ton, but I wanted to know about whether or not it contains "lolis". I don't like them personally, and I'm also concerned about the legality of them in the US. It seems a grey area I don't want to venture into. One individual told me the game does have lolis, but another said they are just flat-chested but 18 year old characters. I've heard of the young but legal school girl type being called a loli, so maybe that's what the first guy meant. Still, if the game really does have lolis I'm not interested. Thanks for you help, future helper!

Thanks for you help, future helper! One of the girls in it could be considered a loli as she's the youngest of the cast and flatchested too but it's nothing anyone should be too concerned about. I find it kind of hypocritical though that you're worried about legality while not having problems with tentacle rape and other sexual stuff which also happens to be present while also being your first post in a forum focused on video gaming while BBH is an eroge RPG hybrid strange. There's also plenty of news to find with a simple Google search, so I suggest you do that next time.

Like I said, the Google searches were returning confusing information, so I was just throwing out a question here in the hopes someone could answer me more directly. As for whether it's enough of a video game to belong on Loverslab, I figured there was enough of an RPG element to qualify. I do apologize if it didn't really belong here. As for the hypocrisy, it's a dual matter of personal fetish taste and legality. I enjoy tentacles and non-consensual stories, but I do not like lolicon. If that's weird then I guess I am weird. Add in that tentacles are allowed in the US while the other isn't and I have my boundaries where they are.
Just Checking Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 You'll find a surprising number of people define "loli" as less an underaged girl of maybe 14 years old at the most, and more just a female character that looks young, like you mentioned, often simply flat chested. I've seen characters described as loli because they're short, or flat chested, or sometimes just have a round, young looking face, so it's kind of open to interpretation. That said, lots of thing with loli characters will say "oh yeah, no dude, she's totally legal, she's like 18 or 25 or 400 years old or something" and the character looks, acts, dresses and speaks like they're 8. So yeah, it's really a matter of what you feel comfortable with, because people that produce that kind of stuff know that as long as there's a disclaimer saying something like "Characters portrayed are 18+ years old" then it's not technically illegal in most circumstances. That said, I don't know the laws where you're from. Maybe it's different. Example, I saw some artist once online who drew some decent stuff, but there was a lot of loli content, comics and such, and got away with not getting banned from every website this side of the dark web with a disclaimer that said something to the effect of "All characters represented here are at least 18 years old, even if explicitly stated otherwise". So yeah. That's a thing that exists. To be honest, your best bet with any specific game is to just google it and have a quick look at the characters in it, maybe there's a wiki that'll make it easier. That way, you can look over the characters and decide for yourself if something is acceptable or not, cuz legality regarding this kind of stuff is, as you said, something of a grey area in a lot of situations and ends up coming down to your own judgement.
