Justoutthere Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I am an old Skyrim player (almost 2000 hours played) but am now facing a dilemma. My old rig died, catastrophically and so have no access to what I had before but in the light of a new dawn I have a significantly more powerful rig and want to be able to exploit the bestr of mods for Skyrim but am unsure of where I should go as I was limited significantly by the low power of my old system. I currently have just the vanilla Skyrim with DLCs installed and am looking for suggestions/advice as to how to get the best from my current system. Specs AMD FX4300 (3.9 GHtz) 8 Gbyte Ram GTX 1050 Ti 4Gb Suggestions would be appreciated bearing in mind I am very inexperienced with moding even though I have played for so long as I was unable to play around too much due to system limitations

Gameplayer Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Some Advice, Generate your games Skyrim.ini and Skyrimpref.ini Do not make all the suggested tweaks to them, simply leave them as they are... There may be one or two tweaks you will have to do for an ENB. Next, get ENB Boost....And then maybe try a Preset, I cant remember which one Im using but its pretty tame on Color Corection and Darkness..... That said it does add all the goodies like Shadows actually look great better than most games out today. Thing is every ENB Preset is set up for overkill, So Open the ENBseries.ini CTRL-F type in Quality Change each one that shows up from -2 to 2. I know it seems backwards but yes uh its set up weird should be the other way around. (-2 is high end for some reason) This reduces the quality from the MAX down to the lowest for Performance purposes, its actually quite a good looking picture still and I've found gives the biggest gains in FPS when using a Preset. That should take care of the Memory Issues with Skyrim as well since ENB comes with a fix for that built right in. Also that bit of advice about changing the quality settings is not easy to find around online for me for some reason, also Im not even sure most people know why they cant get decent gameplay worthy FPS cause the Presets all come packed for screen archery rather than playing. As far as Mods go... Bodyslide UUNP option, HDT Disparity <---Try that one out. The Book of UUNP <-mine Immersive Armors <----Between this and "The book of UUNP" you get like 600 more armors that fit into the game atmosphere. NPCs use them too. Sexlab Amorous Adventures Defeat Death Alternative Frost Fall Guk Texture Changer <---Makes the Muscle map change, there is one out there for both male and female now, cant remember where I saw it though. Pumping Iron Gamefever Vanilla Pots Rebalnce <---My own Potion mod, makes the potions have a timer, and also makes the Fortify stuff last a long time, cant stand 60 second timers on stuff like crafting or strength buffs for combat that little amount of time was plain stupid. That's pretty much what Im playing....Im about to remove Realistic Needs and Diseases,....And Alchemy Cooking Overhual....Something or other, couldn't care for how impossible the Potions got to make or the dozens of ingredients needed to make the more interesting food. Try out, Lady Horus, Tera pack....its here on LL has stuff for both men and women characters its a really good conversion.
