I'm trying to manually edit the bone weighting on a mesh for Skyrim, and I'm finding that bones are moving the mesh far more than they should. Literally a weight of 0.01 will move the mesh as if it was at a weight of 1.0... however if I drop the weight on a section of the mesh down to 0.0001 it acts as if the weight really was about 0.5 or so. Giving the vertices a weight of 0 works as intended. I've looked pretty thoroughly online and can't come up with an answer as to what is causing it. I'm using Blender 2.49 by the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Symon Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Sounds like an exporter issue. As far as I know, there are still no exporters for Skyrim that don't require a lot of work to use. If you are using the NifTools beta exporters, you'd be better served asking this question on their forums. Good luck.
