Root Element Missing? Sexlab Framework problem

Recommended Posts

Yeah for some reason even though it worked earlier in the day my sexlab framework now won't load due to its root element being missing and I've tried a lot of stuff to get it to work again can anyone please explain how it did this and why it did so.

I have no idea how to get my papyrus on here since the framework doesn't show up anymore since it now refuses to load sexlab framework which reminds me every time I start the nexus mod manager.

Try to reinstall it.

If it does not work, then post again and I will tell you how to get the papyrus.log

in response to the post yesterday I would like to mention that it does not allow my already downloaded Sexlab. framework to show up at all and when I try to download another it is completely gone from my nexus and refuses to download another due to its ROOT element missing so I don't know how to fix this since I cannot get the framework to show up in my nexus anymore. I am not certain how to get papyrus.log involved since my nexus won't even show that I have the framework. During the loading screen for the nexus mod manager it gives me an error and that it cannot load Sexlab Framework. I apologize if I did not completely state my problem in my original post.

No need to apologize.

Question: you start the game using SKSE, do you? It is mandatory to run SexLab.

Try to uninstall the game from NMM (I suppose when you say "nexus" you meant "nexus Mod Manager"), and reinstall it.

Be aware that you need to download the full file first, then install it as file (using NMM.)

Let me know.

(If you don't mind, quote what I typed when you will answer, so I will get a notification.)

CPU thank you for your reply however the Skyrim Sexlab framework doesn't even show up in my menu for my mods. It will not load the mod and will give an error before the nexus mod manager loads completely stating that my mod cannot  load thus never appearing in the manager as if it never existed. I have the latest SKSE and I installed the way that the site recommended to me.

I will mention that the problem only started after I tried disabling a mod that I believe was called Untamed and I was forced to shut down halfway through my mod being disabled so I wonder if this is reason why my framework mod wound up disappearing and now refuses to load as well as gives me a Root Element Error. Once again I apologize for not being clear and concise with my problem but I haven't seen this happen before with my mods and I wonder why it was only the framework mod that acquired this error.

OK, do a screenshot of the main page of NMM (where the SexLab framework should be visible.)

Do also a screenshot of your Data directory, also here only the SexLabFramework.esm file is important for me.

Thank you. I will try to understand what is going on, and try to fix your install.

Thank you for the help. I was having issues getting my screen shots uploaded so I saved them to a word document that should be attached to this message that should contain the two photos that will give you an idea of what is going on. The first is the message that pops up as Nexus Mod Manager is loading while the second is a an attempt to install/upload the framework.

OK, do a quick test.

Go in the folder C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manger\Skyrim\Mods\ and delete the file SexLabFramwork_v162_FULL.7zip

Try to run NMM, disable/enable a mod (any one), exit NMM, then re-install SexLab again.

Your advise worked for the first problem I had which was the error message that popped up when loading/opening my Nexus Mod Manager but even after deleting the framework from the recommended location which did make it so the message doesn't pop up it still states my framework is still missing the root source when I downloaded it again from the site and then tried to upload it into nexus and it will not show up in nexus. I am uncertain how to get the file to upload properly. Thank you for help.

Mh. I think you need a NMM expert then.

If removing the file, and re-installing it, does not solve your problem, then probably you have a corrupted configuration file for NMM.

Sadly I don't use it, so I am not sure what file you should fix.

I will try to install and use it quickly.

Then, if I will find something, I will reply again.

Try to go to the folder where NMM installs the mods.

Find a sub-folder called "cache", and delete it.

Then restart NMM and let me know.

Do you mean all the mods in the Cache or just the framework mod?

Not sure.

Try with just SLFramework.

The cache will be re-generated.

That Worked! Thanks a bunch for helping me and getting my Mod back and thank you for taking the time to reply to my question/request!

Ignore the previous message about it working now my nexus gives me this message when I tried to install it after it allowed me to download it.

The picture is in a word document like last time.

Due to everyone posting shitty responses, I have the answer:

1. Open NMM

2. Open NMM's Mod Folder (it's an icon on your actionbar)

3. Search for the zip of that mod in this folder and delete it

4. Repeat Step 3 except go into the ReadMe folder and do this

5. Now go into the cache folder and delete the folder with your mods name on it.

6. Close out, Restart NMM

7. You should not get this error anymore when attempting to install.

8. If it breaks against, rinse and repeat.

If this doesn't work check mod conflicts with TES5Edit.
