ChangedLater Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 So. I'm level 38, and able to take down a dragon in 3 or 4 hits. I am able to do this because I have downloaded mods which allow me to fine tune how much damage I deal to and am dealt by NPCs. I have my output damage turned WAY up because even the weakest bandits i encounter require 5 or 6 hits to kill, with many requiring me to hit them 15 or 20 times before they go down, whereas they can kill me in one hit. tl;dr Skyrim's leveled enemy system is making bandits much, much tougher than dragons and monsters. This is absurd. Monsters should be deadly, humans should be soft and squishy. SO. What I am asking for is a mod or a group of mods that any of you have used and gotten this result. Any ideas?
chymaera Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Deadly dragons/ultimate deadly dragons/something else I've forgotten about. There's a shit ton of difficulty-enhancers on the Nexus. Or you could slap Requiem onto your Skyrim and weep. I use Ordinator + Wildcat + a few other Enai mods - thinking of using YASH on my next installation. Try them out if you don't mind perk overhauls to go with.
lewd123 Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 If you want a finer, more minimal approach to doing this, Deadly Dragons (Choose Loremonger edition in the installer if you don't want the new dragon types) would be a good start. It would be a lot easier to help you if we knew what you were using currently. We don't need a full load order or anything, but a quick overview of your main difficulty mods would be nice.

Set the difficulty to Adept Level, that's normal mode. Have the following, Skytweak, --->Hugely beneficial mod with a slew of dials to adjust so many different things that it actually just makes most difficulty mods feel obsolete, it also handles a whole bunch of other things too much to list out. -->Can fine tune the damage player does and recieves -->Can fine tune the bonus health NPC's get -->Can fine tune every single game setting -->Can fine tune 3rd person camera in game OBIS, Makes bandits stronger and provides variety. Deadly Dragons, ->U should know by now. Skyrim Immersive Creatures, ->Adds creatures, monsters, and ppl to game, can be adjusted to be harder as well. The only mod that I have that alters player perks is Staffmod.esp or Staff Experience mod....Makes it so that if you play a wizard you get experience and damage increases for staffs. Gamefever Potions I also use my own Potion mod that makes health/stam/magic restore over time rather than instantly, this makes the game much harder and way more tactical in itself than people may realize....Stops infinite health spam....You will be overcome by simple adept level difficulty due to having to wait for health. On top of all that I roll with defeat or devious curse loot....So uh at around 10-20% health the player gets raped and bound, gaged and sent off to slavery. Happens more than you might think. I don't use any modded armor that I haven't made myself.....Or adjusted it for vanilla levels....The Book of UUNP comes to mind. -Using mod added armor and weapons leads very quickly to an unbalanced game so basically I made Book of UUNP so that it is balanced and you get the stuff at appropriate levels plus have cool stuff to pick from and well a bunch of different looks too.
Nagib Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 As other people said, use Deadly Dragons for dragons with 20000 or 40000 health points...They will also be unique in their attacks. For animals, use "Animal Tweaks", your char will get REKT like hell.
Wolborg Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Strangely enough, I had exactly the opposite experience. At the 40ish levels everything got so easy to kill that I raised the difficulty level to Adept, but dragons were just roasting me in seconds and I seemed almost unable to damage them. For a while I actually played so that whenever I saw a dragon, I changed the difficulty to Novice, and after having killed the dragon I changed it back to Adept. Later I realized it was nonsense and learned to fight the dragons at Adept level. But they remained a real nuisance. I wonder what I was doing wrong. So I haven't used any mods yet to make things more difficult. So far the in-game difficulty level setting has been sufficient. How do you people manage to hit a flying dragon with your arrows anyway?
Forumsurfer79 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Maybe try a bunch of mods. Bethesdas Sykrim behaves like a stubborn ass ... My suggestions to this topic

FelixGoldenHeart Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Not going to lie, my first thought opening this thread I thought it was going to be someone complaining about non-lore friendly mods or something. My personal picks for combat would be the following combo. ACE (all of it's plugins even has synergy between the trees. Plus I enjoy what it does with archery and smithing), deadly dragons (because they're awesome. They have just killmoved me numerous times using this and I love it.), and action combat. (Makes the combat more interesting. Like when you attack and they attack, it counts it as a parry and you take less damage / earn blocking exp. Also has a poise system comparable to Dark souls 1.) I think there may be a few others but these have made my game fun to play, along with other mods like RND etc. If that helps any.
