SapphicSoul2 Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 I have a mystery to reveal. it all began when my internet service provider told me that my modem needed replacing. a week later my new super hub was delivered. installed it according the the step by step guide that came with it. which resulted in a two hour phone call to their support centre. I had wifi my wife did not. in the end, even though the technician in mumbai had come up with some very entertaining and ridiculous reasons for my wife's lack of wifi, I went and got the five year old cable from our shed and connected her to the superhub that way. god forbid that she can't play her facebook games! but I digress, during the two hour phone call, I made several attempts to connect to internet via the wifi. this resulted, for some unknown reason, in blue screen crashes. eventually my pc decided it needed to reset windows and purge anything which I had added. sometime later I had, in effect, a new pc. I had to reinstall steam and chrome etc. I took avantage of my new download speeds, 48mbps!, and bought Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. Steam downloaded and when it was installed I clicked on play. my graphics card is a joke apparently. there were warnings about the problems I would experience if I continued and tried to play the game. but two days later I completed it. no graphic armageddons had occured and my pc hadn't caught fire. with no game to play I decided to revisit Fallout 3 New Vegas. I installed it and followed Gophers guides to installing the mods to make it pretty. some time later it was ready to go. I clicked on play and started a new game. it all loaded nicely and I created a character. as I left doc mitchells house the screen went black and my pc froze up. no response from keyboard or mouse. I restrated my pc via the power button. three days later I have exhausted all the fixes I have found online. according to windows my radeon settings stopped working because of a problem. this led me to AMD.com and following the " most common causes of problems " guide, I updated my drivers. result? no change. black screen within 5 minutes of restart. I followed the command prompt fix next. "DISM/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth" then " SFC/scannow " nether found any problems or corrupt files. then I tried the amd tool to completely remove any amd software for a fresh install. it did its job and restarted my pc. I downloaded the tool that analyses my system and downloads all requied software. device drivers, audio drivers etc when all my new software was installed my pc restarted once again and all was shiny and new. I cautious tried different things and it didn't crash. I was giddy with confidence so I launched fo3nv from it's icon on my desktop. loaded my save game and enjoyed at least ten minutes of play before guess what? Black screen and system freeze. after I had restarted it and I could click on my Radeon settings. windows told me that the programme had stopped because it had experienced a problem. wtf! I appeal to those who understand these things to advise me what to do. should I just give up and buy a new pc? oh sorry, here is my system specs. HP Paviliion 22cw IPS led backlit monitor. ASUSTek G20BM windows 10 home 64bit. AMD FX770k quad core 3500mhz. 12gb GDDR5 Radeon R9 200. 2048mb. Radeon crimson 16.11.5.
