That's right, engineering skill tree. I myself find the Conjuration skill tree a bit dull, demons and undeads, okay. But I want to see some robots fighting by my side!

 

Lore:

Engineering is a lost magic, used by the ancient Dwemer. Calling upon their magical abilities, they are able to move, destroy and even create new material. Imbuing the robots they make with this magic with a soul gem, they can summon an Automaton to fight by their side. But now Calcelmo, owner of the Dwemer Museum, found some intriguing Blue Prints in an Ancient Dwemer Ruin. Maybe you can help him solve the riddles behind these blue prints?

 

General Concept:

Replacing the Conjuration Tree with the Engineering Tree.

Engineering allows you to create Dwarven Weapons (a replacement for Bound Weapons, as I expect some people will moan for it if I don't add them), Automatons (Dwarven Spider, Dwarven Sphere and Dwarven Centurion, different levels of course (Normal, Guardian, Master).

 

 

Turrets/Gem Trap - Ice Storm, Chain Lightning, Fireball

Creating an Automaton will require a soul gem, so even when you have 100% Fortify Engineering, you will still need to have a soul gem (unless you invest in the Spell Cost Reduce perks which will remove the reagent need).

 

Perk Tree:

Trying to maintain the idea of minions and improvements and the reducing of the cost of the "spells", the tree will be divided into 4 branches.

 

1) Automaton Attack Branch:

 

- Swift Processor: Increase attack speed by 10% (3 ranks: 10, 15, 20).

- Enhanced Battery: Increase stamina by 30 to allow for more power attacks. (2 ranks: 30, 70).

- Charge: Increase total damage done by 20% (2 ranks: 20, 50)

- Battery Replacement: Drain all your stamina to replenish your Automatons stamina and health by 50%.

- Ends in Grand Tactician: Your Automaton will attack 50% faster, increase it's damage by 20% and it's stamina by 50 points. Damage done against other automatons is increased by 50%. This idea sucks so I'll replace it.

 

2) Automaton Defensive Branch:

aka Tank/Durability Branch

 

- Upgraded Material: Increase Armor Rating by 20 (2 ranks: 20, 70)

- Insightful Engineer: Increase HP, Stamina and Magicka Pool generally (3 ranks, increase by 20, 50 and 70).

- TOGGLE ABILITY: Power Link: At the cost of 75 HP, 75 Stamina and 75 Magicka increase the total amount of your minions pools by 20% (Stacks with Insightful Engineer.

- Uncharge: Destroy your Automaton to replenish your health, magicka and stamina by 50% (2 ranks: 50, 70)

- Ends up in Battery Usage: Your Automatons won't run out of energy.

 

3) Dwarven Weaponry:

 

- Steam Compression: Enhance your weapon with the power of steam. Your heated blade will do 25% more damage (2 ranks: 25, 50).

- Enhanced Durability: Your weapons last longer (Increase duration by 1 minute).

- Gun Powder: Add an explosive burst of power to your weapons! (Increase total damage done by another 50% to match up against other One-Handed weapons, will not have any Enhancements or Graphical Effects (probably))

 

4) Spell Cost Reduction:

 

Same as other school except that each perk dismisses the need of a soul gem to cast the spell of that level.

 

Spells/Creations:

 

NOVICE:

- Create Dwarven Dagger (HOORAY CREATABLE DAGGER FOR SNEAKY MAGES)

- Create Dwarven Sword

- Create Dwarven Greatsword

- Create Mini Spider Worker (Small version of Spider Worker)

 

APPRENTICE:

- Create Spider Worker

- Create Mini Dwarven Sphere

- Soul Trap (need to think of other name, must still keep it in-game)

 

ADEPT:

- Create Dwarven Sphere

- Create Spider Worker Guardian

- Control Automatons

- Destroy Hardware (or other name, destroy any automaton of beneath level 16, can be upgraded through skill level)

- Create Dwarven Bow

 

EXPERT:

- Create Spider Worker Master

- Create Dwarven Sphere Guardian

- Create Dwarven Centurion

 

MASTER:

- Create Dwarven Sphere Master

- Create Dwarven Centurion Guardian

 

QUEST:

- Create Dwarven Centurion Master (requires lvl 100 Engineering.

Other Notes/Ideas:

- Spells are sold by Calcelmo ONLY.

- Spells are taught by Blue Prints.
