Morrowind style Robes using Devious Devices

I've always missed the feature from Morrowind where you could wear a robe over your armor. There are some clunky, clipping-prone solutions out there for Skyrim, but it seems to me that Devious Devices already has the solution built-in -- the device hider. Could it be adapted to make chest armor disappear when a robe (using the cloak slot) was equipped?
