Getting Topics to Override Default Goodbye Greetings

Recently used "Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks" mod (which is MIA now) and it had a spell to "Add Leadership Capability" which basically allowed conversation with Non-Essential NPC's for the purpose of hiring them as followers.

 

Well....BECAUSE I had that mod running, I was able to use MY new Hug Me mod on more peeps, because it allowed conversation with pretty much any NPC.

 

So...my question is....HOW the fook did he/she do it?
