Help getting started with Sexlab Aroused

Hey, sorry if I'm already making the mistake of posting this in the wrong section. I'm new to using loverslab and am used to nexus holding my hand through everything.

 

    So right now I have downloaded a few mods to get started on the sexing about in Skyrim. I have Sexlab Framework, Sexlab Aroused Redux, SOS, and Zaz Animation Pack (as well as nude textures and etc.). Now, from what I understood, sexlab is the framework for most sex mods to work through, animation pack is just what its name indicates. SOS is a good dynamic body texture for your player's penis. The one I'm not so sure about is Sexlab Aroused Redux (SAR). I understand that this mod adds an arousal functionality to the game, what I dont know is whether or not this actually lets you initiate any sex! Is it supposed to be paired with another mod that lets you have sex with npcs through some dialogue? Or is there some way to start having sex through SAR that I haven't discovered yet? I know the mods I have work properly (almost*) as I've used both the debugging spell and the "tester" in the Animation Editor tab of Sexlab (these are the only ways I know how to have sex in the game atm).

 

*On a side note, I seem to be having trouble orienting my player as the right gender when initiating animations. I play a male character, and my gender role is set as male heterosexual in the sexlab MCM. Strapons are also disabled. I also checked Gender Specific Animations in FNIS for Users. Despite all this, whenever I test the animations, I end up playing the role of the female, putting my burly dunmer hunk in fairly awkward positions. I already know how to switch positions using the hotkey, but that's only a temporary solution. I also wanted to mention that this seems to only happen when I use the debug spell. When I test through sexlab MCM, it places me in the correction role.

I can recommend you  good mod for sex, it is "SexLab SexChat". This mod correctly sort males and females, if you speak with female it put you in male role and vicewersa.

I actually found another mod called Sexlab Eager NPCs that seems great. But I don't know if this is what I need or not to actually initiate sex. If it is, then what functionality does SAR actually have? Does it communicate with mods like Eager NPCs to change your experience somehow?

Sexlab Aroused Redux just adds a value called arousal and some visual effects to go with it.

To make use of it you need other mods like Eager NPCs, Relationship Dialogue System, Scent of Sex, etc., which can initiate a sex scene.

Sexlab Aroused Redux is just a framework. This means that you can not have sex just with the mod. The arousal feature is supposed to be a feature that other mods can use for additional functionality (for example consequences when having a high arousal level).

Yes, it does "communicate" with mods like Sexlab Eager NPCs. I don't know every functionality of that mod in detail, but (as stated in description) the chance of having success after a charm dialogue is affected by arousal of the NPC you are talking to. Or with other words: Talking to a NPC that has a high arousal increases your chance to have sex with that NPC. This is just an example of how arousal affects characters. Depending on what mods you use, it is also possible that certain events will trigger upon a high arousal, like masturbation or rape.

Sexlab Aroused Redux is the framework for arousal. Sexlab itself is the framework for sex. Sexlab Aroused Redux uses Sexlab's sex functions to trigger sex. Both of them are only frameworks, having sex with just these two installed is not possible (unless using debug spells). Sexlab Match Maker is the most simple mod for having sex (because it allows just that and nothing else). Sexlab Eager NPCs is a way to have sex too.

 

General advice: Keep in mind that Sexlab (or sex mods for Skyrim in general) are aimed at female NPCs. You will see more mods with arousal support for females than mods with arousal mods for males.

Okay thanks, that's make perfect sense. I'm hoping that with one of these mods installed, I will no longer be placed in the wrong orientation for animations.

Like console:

player.setAroused 10

or something? It bothers me, that the player is on 40 direct in the beginning of a new game...

If you hold down the key that shows your arousal (default N, I believe), it will force your character to "relieve" his arousal by jerking off, thus setting it to 0.

 

Pretty much any sex act performed with/by your character will reset arousal to zero, allowing it to begin accumulating again.

SexLab Aroused has a puppet master page in the MCM where you can change values. First hit the SLA hotkey (defaut: N) without having an NPC in the crosshairs to target yourself. Then go to the SLA puppet master MCM page and set your "Exposure" and "Time Rate" to 0. That will reset your arousal to 0.
