How do I create a fade to black scene?

I am fiddling with the engine and I cannot seem to find or understand how fade-to-black works. I shifted through amorous adventures quest data and left me with more questions than answers. I would assume it is a scripted event, but I cannot view script sources for whatever reason. Is there a tutorial that I have not seen? If so, may someone link me to it?

In case you use ENB, then you can only use a basic function.

In case you are not, then it is an ImageSpaceModifier.
