Little Confused Here~

Hello, I just started modding skyrim and I have some serious questions.

 

I already installed SKSE (newest version)

installed NMM

Installed this follower mod http://skyrimgtx.com/followers.html called Nyx, and it worked! I can see her the exact way she is supposed to look, but I can't trade with her, remove clothes (mine either), and when I make her follow me out of the inn she's at, her model disappears and I can only see the name and hear her voice, why is that? Is it because I just installed the core mods needed for her to just be there? To be more specific I just installed these mods:

 

Fores New idles

XP32 Maximus Skeleton Extended

Realistic Ragdolls and Force

Net Immerse Override

HDT Physics Extensions and

Race Menu 

 

And that's it, just the core mods needed for the Nyx follower mod. Also on the RaceMenu interface, I don't see any new hair, eyes, body types, sizes, better textures, or any of those models, and my character still looks like the vanilla ones, do I still need to download independent hair, face, eyes mods? Pardon my ignorance, but I've never modded skyrim before, and I just followed the instructions for that follower mod.

 

Also I would like to copy the appearance of that follower to mine, is there a way to do that? I really like the way she looks. And while I'm at it, I'd like to know if with that RaceMenu mod I could make any character look like the way I want? Also does it work for body types as well? As in breast, butt sizes?

 

I'd like to create a character like this as well, the same body, same face, eyes, skin textures, and a similiar hair, if it's possible....

You could try these two mods the first  would give you plenty of options for body type and skin textures the second extra morphs for racemenu and outfit fitting for chosen body

I can understand why you'd be set on a specific follower or racemenu preset. However, there are two things I'd make mention of.

 

That particular follower is not listed under the followers or presets available for download. Else I'd create the same load order you have and trouble shoot on my end. Perhaps you might want to contact the mod author and see if they pulled that specific character, due to some unforeseen issues. It seems likely given the issues you are having. Assuming you have everything properly installed and your local files are verified by Steam, it's my educated guess that there is some issue with the follower mod.

 

The other thing worth mentioning. The author recommends manual installation. That can get messy, and could cause conflicts if One is not careful. There are indeed some mods such as SKSE ENB and some game engine changes that must be installed manually. Most, don't and I'd assume this one is no exception. Mod Organizer is a very powerful tool to be familiarized with, and the youtube channel Gamer Poets has very through guides available on SKSE and MO. The author of MO has even been contracted to redo Nexus Mod Manager. But that will take time, and Mod Organizer is already available.

To these questions, the answer is absolutely yes. Race menu allows you to edit your PLAYER CHARACTER however you like. Not all changes will look the best. I don't remember exactly how, but yes. You can save follower's presets to be applied to your player character. However, you must be the same race as the NPC or else, some things will not look quite right.

I'm sorry I meant Lynx, shes the first follower mod listed in the link I posted, and you can clearly see how the author is interacting with her in various ways, like removing her armor, and trading stuff with her, and I can't do any of those things, do I still need to download a follower command mod or something like that? I installed it properly (I think) I just dropped the corresponding files in the data files from skyrim. Also I can't even remove my own armor, do I still need to install any particular body, clothing or other mod? Still very confused here.

Vanilla Skyrim lets you do almost nothing with followers. In that video he looks like he's using the mod Amazing Follower Tweaks. I use EFF, which is the same kind of mod with a different approach that I personally prefer. Both will allow you to change lots of things about your followers, including inventory, outfits, combat styles, spells, their home location etc.

 

If a follower is standalone it means she likely comes with her own hair, body, and textures. For other characters, including your own, to use non-vanilla hairs, body, and textures you will need separate mods. There are far more options for all those things than anyone could list. Check out the "Models and Textures" and "Body, Face, and Hair" categories on Nexus and see which you like best. The body replacers will all come with their own textures, but you can overwrite them with better quality ones from other mods as long as you make sure you're using textures compatible with the body type. Most of the main body shapes (especially UNP and CBBE) have lots of armours and outfits available for download that will fit them, and there are replacers for vanilla outfits shaped to fit them as well. Have a look through the Armour and Clothing categories for those.

 

My own set-up uses UNP for female bodies with Mature Skin textures, and Schlongs of Skyrim (here on loverslab, not on Nexus) for men with its own included textures. EFF for the follower framework. KS Hairdos and SG hair pack for hairs. (SG isn't hosted on any of the big mod sites due to permission issues. It needs to be googled.)

And no need to be rude there buddy, and not exactly, right now I just want to make a good looking character, and to be able to control my followers, but now that you say so, can someone just explain me how to even remove my own armor? I just want to see what kind of bodies I can do with the RaceMenu mod, also as it is right now, there aren't any body types included in the Racemenu by itself or are there? if there aren't what body mods would you guys recommend me to install, one that would look the most like the picture I showed above.

The picture you posted comes originally from the PureSkinTexture mod, so that's where the skin is from. It's the 6th photo there, and in the posts section the author lists some of the mods used in the screenshots. The hair is from KS Hairdos and the colour could be made with RaceMenu. Body I'm not sure, and I'm not very good at identifying them. It looks like a bigger-breasted UNPB with perhaps a hint of SeveNBase. Could well be one of the presets included in UUNP, which is part of Bodyslide. Bodyslide can be quite complicated to get the hang of, but it does allow you to sculpt your own bodies.

 

RaceMenu doesn't include its own bodies, no. If you want to use RaceMenu to shape your character's body you'll need a skeleton that supports scaling. XPMSE is the place to look for that, and a good skeleton is required for lots of mods anyway so it's likely you'll be needing one sooner rather than later as you get further into modding.

 

As for taking off your own armour, it should be as simple as opening your inventory and selecting to remove it. If you mean the underwear, that's built-in to the vanilla body textures and can't be removed except by installing a nude skin texture.

Thanks that helped a lot!! But I just have one more question. You said that I needed to install a nude skin texture in order to remove underwear, and I've seen this one called UUNP and really like the way it looks, you know where could I download it, and if I can tweak that body in Racemenu or Bodyslide as you said.?

UUNP is included in Bodyslide, which I linked to in my last post. You need to pick the UUNP option when installing it (you can also pick the CBBE option as well to have everything.) But UUNP is more for the shape of the body than the skin textures. It (I think) does have its own default nude texture included but there are lots and lots of others to choose from, and it might actually have been one of those you saw. There's the pure skin I linked to, which is the one used in that screenshot, as well as mature skin, sg female textures renewal, fair skin, real girls, milkdrinker and barbarian, demoniac, leyenda etc.

 

To start with perhaps just use the default UUNP ones, and then you could experiment with some of the others until you find some you like. Just always be sure you're using UNP-compatible textures with UNP-based bodies (UUNP) or CBBE-compatible textures with CBBE-based bodies. Otherwise you're probably going to get nipples in unusual places!

 

For tweaking the body, Bodyslide allows you to create your own and gives lots of presets to start with - or you could use a preset if there's one you like. Also during installation you can select a plugin that adds racemenu sliders for adjusting only your player character's shape as well. You will definitely need a skeleton like XPMSE for that, and be aware that every piece of main clothing or armour you equip actually equips its own body to replace whatever you have installed, so if you want your shape and changes to work all the time you would need clothing and armour that has all the right bones and weighting. Basically, you're probably going to want hdt versions of all three things - body, skeleton, and outfits.

 

It can all seem very confusing at first - and I personally found Bodyslide in particular quite difficult to get the hang of - but just read all the instructions and tutorials carefully and have a play around.

I got the body sliders to work and installed PureSkin and BodySlide with uunp setting, and I can remove the underwear and all, but I can't see the nipples or vagina at all, also I don't see the textures for PureSkin active in the game, I just see the regular vanilla textures with the body sliders and no nipples. Also is the PureSkin mod supposed to change the look of the vanilla faces as well? Because my character still looks the same ._.  If not what should I download to make my character look like the picture from my thread?
