Hey guys,

Quick question is there a way i can remove ALL fantasy gear? leaving steel as the best metal? and maybe adding multiple forms of steel, iron, hide, studded and so on?

If anyone Knows of any Weapons, Armor that are for any material upto steel please post a link so i can take a look.

Well, the only thing and possibility that I can think for you is that could make an ESP file with a database that contains modified armors with the stats that you desire removing all of the enchantments and whatever else property. You could use a more faster and easy modification on several armor pieces through batch editing with Skyedit.

To add on to what DARTHANIMAL said, you could also modify some texture files and point your nifs at them. Say, basic aluminum has a different look than galvanized, steel can have a blue tint, that sort of thing. You could also have these modified nifs directly replace stock armors and weapons. Say, you have a blue steel version of a sword. You could have it replace the elven sword. Instead of ebony, you could have something that looks like obsidian. See my train-of-thought?

I think it would become boring kinda quickly, no daedric artifacts. no enchanted weapons, little variety in armor and weapons.

Best you can go and add some mods that are realistic.

And not wear the armors that you find too fantasy

Well, he wa quite simple with his question. He asked a way "to remove" all fantasy items or equipment meaning that he desire that his PC and the NPCs use fantasy equipment no more. Because he will have an unbalance game if he does not use fantasy armor but the rest of the npc use them, except mages I guess. So in resume he wants to remove vanilla magical attributes for all in general and not add more items in his data folder. So his option is to do a batch editing at the vanilla item properties and Sky_Watcher85's suggestion about to modify the visual in order to complete a less fantasy overhaul.

For Aarcus: Following Sky_Watcher85's suggestion and concerning your desire to remove fantasy gear. Besides removing the magical properties of items as I said before, also you could modify the look of certain items like Daedric by modify the "paths" of those armors and leading them to some vanilla steel or to some steel armor suggested from GHJKL. This kind of change can be accomplished through Creation Kit, it will take some more time but it is not dificult, you can learn it in just one day.

You could also try the ever time consuming method of downloading lore-friendly armors that aren't fantasy.

I believe using the CK you can have them replace all the vanilla armors.

That way the PC and NPC will automatically be wearing non-fantasy armors.

As for unbalance.. what unbalance?

NPCs with mega equips actually balances the game, in my opinion.

It will become a discussion without sense just for a fault of reading correctly.

I meant to respond that kind of line. If Aarcus follows GHJKL's suggestion to download and install several equipment mods that are less fantasy and just wear those less fantasy items when the NPCs will keep using the fantasy enchanted items for exception of mages, it will become a most unbalance world for Aarcus. So, do you understand more correctly now, MekiNeki?

Well to be honest I don't really see the point in wanting less fantasy in a fantasy RPG with magic, dragons, demons either.

Well, there are people and people. Some likes more the books and other the movies. Some prefer USA animation and others anime. Some likes to play Skyrim with lightsaber and riding a BMW, other prefer to play Skyrim full filled with adult girls running wild with extremely huge breats knocking down every virtual creatures across the forests and snowlands. other prefer to play Skyrim a young female child and some with clothes and other naked, and other prefer to use the Skyrim's visual with a less fantasy overhaul, I don't really know why but there are people and people and so many people with diferent tastes, desires and imagination with good and bad talent are born these incredible mods together with sites and comunities like this one.

It's not that I don't understand the different tastes people have but if you take away the fantasy part of an Elder Scrolls game what is left? Not much I'd say.

Well, I personally like Skyrim as it is, a fantasy role play game on a medieval time alike. I personally like armor mods like Tera game and any other alike. But I do also respect all of the kind of mods, ideas and desires that many people have. There are people and people as I said in my previous and maybe there are other people looking for a less fantasy mod aswell, I may not agrred and probably I will not download it but even so it is good for other and for all. It is good for all because with almost all mods and their modders comunities like this one grows up and more resources are born.

I don't consider wrong request or ideas like this one, through these a new modder or teams are set but I am kinda not agrred with not constructive commentaries that some people may do. I am not writing about you, Absurd but I guess that many times we saw agressive and unconstrive post on some thread mods. I conside that if someone does not like and is not insterested in a specific mod, should not its negative throughts because it may be dissapointed for the modders and the fans of the mod as it happened in some places in here calling big breat bodies as ugly mods and small breats as horrible things. There are diferents tastes for diferent people but all of thos mods are part of something in here. If I don't like a mod and I am not insterested, I won't post something negative that could offend the members, there is not sense.

One of the things I like about Skyrim, Oblivion, FO3/NV, etc. is that you can make it whatever you want. You want scifi in your fantasy? Bam, lightsabers and high-armor, low-cut bodysuits! You want some Film Noir? Have a trenchcoat, fedora, and Tommy gun.

It's brilliant, the choices we have. Purists can stay pure, crazy people can be crazy, kinksters can be kinky, and 'nillas can be 'nilla.

Indeed, that is right. Nobody should judges your preferences about how to play this game or any other alike as either what elements to have in the content to make your fantasy as the way you want to play your fantasy. So, there are a lot of people with a lot of ideas, not matter how creative are those from the thoughts of some one but they may fit your kind of fantasy or anyone else's fantasy. So, it does not matter if it is less or more fantasy, lightsaber or a RAmbo's knife, medieval girls with more makeup than Victoria Secret's models, if all of those or some suit your fantasy taste then that accomplish your fantasy and it may someone else's desire comes true in the virtual game world. So, all of those are great elements and open more door for more possibilites and/or crazy imagination like you and I guess that it does not matter much if the female hero use a skumpy armor that it may not be so protective against swords.
