Graphical Bug

I need your help. I've been playing New Vegas for the last 2 months without problems, but yesterday I have stumbled upon this bug.

As you can see in the pictures I have some letters (an E and a X) and lines in the screen in normal gameplay. They disturb me a lot.

I've verified cache of the game and the problem persists.

I've also loaded the game without mods and the problem persists

I haven't installed any new mod or changed load order in the previous weeks so It's not mod related.

I don't know what to do to repair this annoying bug

My load order

Cut (not delete) these 2 folders to your desktop and then start the game and see if the problem is gone.

Fallout New Vegas\Data\textures\interface
Fallout New Vegas\Data\Menus

If so, you may have incorrectly installed user interface changing mods for that oddity to happen.

If not, then I'm not sure what else could be causing it besides using a controller instead of a KB/M.

Thanks, I have done that and the problem dissapeared.

Then I tried to isolate the culprit.

Fallout New Vegas\Data\textures\interface  is safe, when I keep this carpet and cut the other the game runs fine.

Fallout New Vegas\Data\Menus   here is the problem

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\menus\main is the carpet causing the problem.

There are 2 files that causes the problem:

inventory_menu.xml

inventory_menu.xml.uio

When i load the game without them I see the HUD as always.

In fact the game creates a new inventory_menu.xml while I play it, and when I close the game the file is gone.

The game seems to work correctly without this files, but I wish somebody with more experience could say me if it is secure to continue playing without this files.

This is what I'd do.

I would open Data\UIO\public\ and remove the files one by one, to see if one of them contributes to my issue.

If it's not, then I'd simply remove the inventory_menu.xml and see if in game there are downsides. If there are not, I'd be happy and stay with that.

IN that directory I only have spunk.txt and the game is fine with that file.

Yesterday I played about 1 hour without "inventory_menu.xml" and the game ran smoothly, I didn't see any problem so I am going to continue playing like that for now.

Imho, that comes from some old mod, and maybe it clashes with something else or doesnt' do things how they are supposed to be done. Handling ui isn't super easy, I do mistakes too on my xmls
