kchez Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Hi there. I'm working on a mod that I'd like to upload at some point. It uses the resources from The Witcher 3 that were uploaded on the Nexus such as - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77097/?, If I publish my mod on here, does it breach community rules?
Guest Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 It depends on the source material you used.If it is directly from the game, then yes.If the original author agrees on using it on other mods, then you are fine. Now, the mod page says:I am releasing a pack containing a lot of items included in the game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. All the original assets belong to CD PROJEKT RED and are distributed with their permission. The pack contains 263 meshes including furniture, clutter, corpses, floors, containers, kitchen stuff and more.I converted these items for my mod "Abandoned Temple" (Google it, it's not on the Nexus).BE AWARE THAT:The armors' meshes are not rigged (I'm not able to, sorry). Feel free to use them and rig them. The furniture has no marker. You have to make it on your own with the CK or Nifskope (takes 30 seconds). You're free to use everything as long as you credit me.You're not allowed to convert this to another game unless it's a TES game. The items in this pack are not included in the pack by Oaristys. Now. I didn't check what is the permission Projekt Red gives. I will. You have to credit the original author. It should be Skyrim or Oblivion. Not FO4.

I figured that would be the case as it was on the Nexus site; but this isn't the Nexus and the rules state not using assets from other games. Better safe than sorry. The content of my mod could only be uploaded here and I've put weeks, if not months of work in to it. Would have been a shame not to be able to share it. Still, if it's not a problem I'll carry on. Wouldn't happen to know how to add furniture markers to static items would you?
Guest Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I did it tons of times for Skyrim. Never did for FO4, but I suppose it is pretty much the same.
