verzrev Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Let me first start out by saying that I am newly registered to these forums, although I have lurked for some time. My reasons for signing up was both to get better acquainted with the community, and also perhaps to learn a thing or two about modding. You see, I've been a member of the Mount & Blade community for years now, and I have seen some truly amazing things being created, such as models and textures for armor and weapons which have been put up for free use by the wonderful and talented members. I've only contributed with some texture work here and there, and I mostly deal in photoshop graphics, so I have no modding skill of my own. Which leads me to the point of this already long-winded post. There is a massive amount of user created content for M&B (warband) which I have been told can, with some work, be imported into Skyrim. So, I have done is compiled a short list of mods I believe are worthwhile, in the hopes that someone will want to tangle with bringing these creations into our games. I'll include pictures as best possible to show what sort of items each pack includes. And here is the list: Highlander armors & targe shields (Stormcloak Approved!) - by Yamabusi http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,145074.0.html Monks, Bishops, Surgeons and Preists (Replace the cross with an amulet of Stendarr or another of the Nine and you've got the perfect pilgrim gear) http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,145768.0.html Viking helmets and armor pack - by dejawolf: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,76333.0.html Medieval Rus/Novgorodian armor pack - by Narf of Picklestink: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,160392.0.html%5B/url 42 weapons (nearly all fit for import) - by xenoargh & Mackie: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,204864.0.html A real solid axe - by Mackie: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,194544.0.html A Khazak light armor (Slightly Vvardenfellish) - By Frell: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,199361.0.html Roman Standard-Bearer Armor Pack (The Imperial Legion says Yes!) - by ficus & Zimke Zlovoljni: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,218829.0.html Medieval helmet pack (more proper helmets for your hedge knight / Witcher armors) - by dejawolf: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,76943.0.html A variety of halberds, polehammers and swords - by Shredzorz: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,125920.0.html A pack containing a couple of nice helmets and misc. items - by Rath0s: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,193733.0.html Varangian Helmets & More - by faradon: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,85220.0.html Boarding Axe Set & unfinished models - by Rigadoon: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,191277.0.html Men-At-Arms pack (Perfect for ranger/bowmen/upcoming dawnguard crossbowmen) by Narf of Picklestink: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,230895.0.html Misc. weapons - by faradon: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,125251.0.html "Civilian" clothes - by maw: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,45833.0.html The only thing these guys ask for (and not all of them do) is to be credited in the readme and on the file page, if the mod should end up released to a wider audience. This is why I have included their names for ease of accreditation. I think it's well deserved. Keep in mind that some items might need a bit of retexturing or mesh workovers to fit into the graphically demanding world of Skyrim. I apologize in advance if there is already a thread about M&B imports, but I couldn't find one via the search function and I hand picked these resources believing them to be ones I felt were the highest quality of the vast amount offered. Thank you very much for reading, and I hope someone sees a challenge in some (or all) of these.
steeleyedblue Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 i think you can find almost all those weapons in the mod called bob's armory on the nexus + he has some really cool vampire hunter d sets that look amazing
verzrev Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 i think you can find almost all those weapons in the mod called bob's armory on the nexus + he has some really cool vampire hunter d sets that look amazing I'm sure you can find a couple that are similar in Bob's, but more choices never hurt. And more clothing choices is always great, especially something which men can also use, for a change
tupp Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 This is an awesome idea, M&B has some of my favorite armors in any game
verzrev Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 This is an awesome idea' date=' M&B has some of my favorite armors in any game [/quote'] Thanks for the sentiment! I hope people take an interest, it's a real treasure chest of lore friendly items (sans crosses and some symbols). If I had the skill or ability I'd try my hand myself, but best I can do is make the resources easily available for those who can work wonders.
Lyra Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I too would love to see some of these armors modded in. As a side note, I remember a M&B tool that allowed you to simply press a button and it would morph the armor to fit the female body. Might be useful to use before converting, for ease of making the armor shaped to both male and female characters. (If I find the tool again, I'll link it.)
