Low timescale and CTDs?

I noticed that I was CTDing heavily whenever I tried to exit an interior cell to the exterior (such as when in a house built using Hearthfire or in a hold like Whiterun). The problem is so bad that I basically have to use COC whenever I want to exit a hold, my house, a cave etc. or there is about a 50% chance that my game will CTD.

So I remembered I was having an issue with certain quests where I had to set my timescale back from 5 to 30 otherwise it would crash 100% as soon as I did something specific, like exiting a cave or something like that.

So I decided to switch my timescale back up to 30 just to see what happened and that specific CTDing seems to have pretty much vanished.

Has anyone ever had this issue? I just can't stand playing with my timescale set at 30. It's way too fast.

Well, first of all the lowest safe timescale I always use is 6. I use it in Skyrim and Fallout 4.
I never CTDd with timescale of 6 and I never lowered it lower than that.

Second is that default timescale is 20, not 30.

I've read in several different places to never go below 6, or bad things happen.

I hate the fast timescales also.  Personally I use 8.

I always play with timescale of 5. Never had any issues with that, apart from some quest mods that require waiting in real time for ingame time to pass for event to trigger.
