Changing Player's Walk Speed

Just delved into Fallout 4's creation kit as I was tired of my characters slow, plodding walk speed. I thought it would be an easy edit to increase the walk speed, but can I get it to work....nope!

I only want to edit the walk speed (and maybe reduce run speed) so using the console "player.setav speedmult" is not an option. I want to directly edit only the walking speed.

I've look at the various  Movement Types for the Player character and changing any/all of those does nothing.

I've looked at the HumanRace and tried setting Movement Data Overrides and Base Movement Defaults with no success.

I'm at a loss...obviously I'm editing the wrong thing. Knowing Creation Kit the Player's default movement setup is probably called FoxRaceHeadStandSettings!

I know my mod is running as I added a quest to pop up a notification just to prove the .esp had loaded and that worked fine...but something as simple as changing movement speed alludes me.

Any one got any pointers/ideas?  I've looked on Nexus and found a few mods that change running speed, but these don't seem to work (or are so subtle that I can see any difference)

Check this mod out Skyrim Speeds.

There's a file you can download that allows you to customize the speeds too.

I messed around with it a bit further with TES5Edit, you can edit the values further like changing speeds going backwards and while holding a weapon too.

Yeah, I've seen it done in Skyrim...but there doesn't seem to be a corresponding mod for Fallout 4.

With further investigation, it seems that the walk speed is hard coded. You can change the values (forwards, backwards, etc), but the actual walk speed does not change.

More interestingly, changing the RUN speeds does work, which seems to further indicate that the walk speeds are hard coded :(

So, it seems the only way to change the WALK speed is to use the speed multiplier then reduce the run speed by the same factor...typical Creation Kit! :)
