Guest Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Anybody knows how to make animations made for use on beds line up properly? Is there a special position you can stand in? Thanks.
RenaSan Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Anybody knows how to make animations made for use on beds line up properly? Is there a special position you can stand in? Thanks. If you check the SexLab MCM you can find hotkeys to adjust poses. You could go in there and move poses up a bit. I've generally have most of the level ground poses moved up a bit. Sometimes it causes slight floating, but overall it works. And if you really just want a screenshot or so, you can definitely just adjust it. Once you figured out or changed the hotkeys they're actually super easy to use to adjust any pose on the fly.

Yeah, ever since I figured them out I've been using them for everything - but the issue here is that for some animations you might need to move forwards/backwards, which is not possible (NPC only), meaning that if the rotation isn't going to fix it for you, you are pretty much screwed. I am talking about Leito's bed animations, if that helps.
shardoom Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Starting the bed animo-object anims ON a bed? Is this what you're doing?
Guest Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Starting the bed animo-object anims ON a bed? Is this what you're doing? The pack I linked above does not include any meshes. It's made for an already existing bed. And I did try it before writing here.
shardoom Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Oh okay then my bad. I haven't tried it because I figured it was a set of object anims. Sexlab doesn't have a setting for anims to only be played when on a bed though right? So these have the possibility of playing without a bed, looking weird... To line them up is simple though. Enable the matchmaker plugin (just for testing/alignment) Make sure you in a room with a partner and a bed. Toggle off auto advance in sexlab menu. Toggle off all anims except one of the bed anims. Use matchmaker to start an anim between you and your partner and obviously choose to use the bed. Repeat for the rest of the Leito bed anims. Now any adjustments you make will stay and the anim will always display correctly on the bed. Surprisingly most of the anims need this done, I went through my entire list lining everything up with the beds.

Is there really no "optimal position" to stand in when starting the sequence? I use SL Tools instead of matchmaker, but I'll try to come up with something. Thanks.
shardoom Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I don't understand what you mean. It makes absolutely no difference where you stand. When you initiate the sex act (via whatever means you do) the characters will either walk to (or teleport depending on your settings) the bed, undress and then appear on the bed. At this point your placement on the bed is completely dependant on the settings in Sexlabs animation editor section of the MCM...

That's only if you have the bed option turned on, if you don't, you will begin the scene at the spot.
shardoom Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 So turn the bed option on, determine the position in the settings and then it'll play perfectly every time...
Guest Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 So turn the bed option on, determine the position in the settings and then it'll play perfectly every time... Only if it was so easy. Thing is - if the you begin the sequence on the bed (or any lifted object), then you will be floating in the air, away from the bed. The animation is designed to be used close to a bed, but not on it. (If it was designed to be used with the bed function, the animation would begin in the "ground", or at a minus axis.)
shardoom Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 It really IS that easy, follow the steps I described earlier. When the anim starts you have access to sliders in the sexlab mcm or hotkeys if you prefer, the hotkeys work best though for lining up the first stage. (Then just copy paste your translation into the rest of the stages) These sliders control x/y/z movement so even if you're floating, simply adjust the z axis down a bit and presto no more floating and you'll always be positioned perfectly in the future.

But aren't Z axis is only for the actor? Last time I checked, you could not modify player's position. I might be wrong though, I will check.
shardoom Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 It applies to everything in the animation.
Guest Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 It applies to everything in the animation. Maybe it was actor-only for the shortcut modelling (the binds you can set up). I'm in the process of checking it right now.
RenaSan Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I'll test them out later today. ---- EDIT: I went and tested them right now. Leito's Bed Animations come with a bed, just like his throne ones or his xcross ones. Why there would be no bed showing up for you I can't exactly tell you. Maybe you haven't installed it properly or perhaps you didn't want the bed and removed the mesh for it. However, if you wanted this to work on any bed it would be tricky, but doable. 1. as you seem to already don't have a bed mesh, you won't need to remove the bed mesh :'D 2. Always start the animations on beds 3. Fix the height for both actors, yes it's possible to adjust both actors seperately from one another. 4. Once the height is fixed it'll depend on what type of bed you're doing this for. The mesh Leito made these for is a double bed, so if you're using a double bed in your home, then it should display properly each time. If however you want this to work perfectly on every bed, no matter the size, then I have to disappoint you. XYZ coordinates are hard wired into the animation and while they can be overwritten by SexLab, they won't acknowledge what size of bed you are using. Or maybe you want to use this on a pack of hay.. who know's. But yea. For double beds, just fix the height for both actors and then it should work perfectly for every double bed.
