imafaget Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Hello everyone. I am running Skyrim with a number of plugins, and I have found there to be infinite loading screens in certain locations. These locations may not be all that are afflicted by this condition, since this is a relatively new mod setup, and my character is low level. Whiterun: - Dragonsreach: Unable to load in/out of Dragonsreach via the front door, but can enter/exit via the dungeons - Bannered Mare: Completely unable to enter via either door, also unable to coc inside - Fellglow Keep: Unable to enter via the dungeons for the College of Winterhold quest - Fort Greymoor: Unable to enter main area, able to enter prison area, but unable to enter main area via prison As you can see, all affected areas are in the Whiterun region, though I'm unsure if that is related. I have entered a number of caves/dungeons/cities with no problems, and am able to load in and out with no crashes. Only the locations mentioned above will result in an infinite loading screen. I have ENBoost and Crash Fixes installed, but when I bring up Task Manager during an infinite loading screen, it shows TESV.exe using 2.8GB of memory, which I understand meaning Skyrim has reached the maximum memory limit. I am running Skyrim on Windows 10 Home x64, with it on Windows 7 compatibility settings. System specs: CPU - i7-6700K GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 RAM - Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 2400MHz Skyrim storage - Partitioned off a Kingston V300 480GB SSD I have attached my enblocal.ini and crashfixplugin.ini. I had made some changes to them from the default, which did not affect gameplay but did not fix the infinite loading screens either. From what I understand, ENBoost is supposed to take some VRAM to bypass the 3.1GB Skyrim RAM limit, yet I am still getting an infinite loading screen when Skyrim reaches 2.8-2.9GB of RAM usage. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Thanks for your help in advance edit: Decided to reinstall Skyrim, case closed I guess. CrashFixPlugin.txt enblocal.txt
imafaget Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Small update: Played some more and was able to move from Fellglow Keep, down the river, cleared the tower of bandits and moved on to the area with lots of hotsprings. Cleared Fort Amol and Knifepoint Ridge without any crashes or lag whatsoever, and also visited Darkwater Crossing and could enter the mine as well as the inn placed there by Expanded Towns and Cities with no problems. So it seems the problems are concentrated in the Whiterun area?
imafaget Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 Another update: Managed to play through Mistwatch, ran around up to the mine near the Rift Watchtower (can't remember the name), then took a carriage down to Dawnstar. Dawnstar had some crazy lag when looking in one particular direction (I suspect due to ETaC), but was otherwise fine. Didn't try entering the inn there though, but could enter the mines and jarl's throneroom with no problems. Took a walk to Solitude, and on the way was able to clear Mzinchaleft and High Gate Ruins with no problems, and entered Solitude. Could enter and exit Radiant Raiment, but got the same infinite loading screen problem at the Winking Skeever. Very strange, I force closed the game and reinstalled Expanded Towns and Cities without allowing it to make any changes to the inns. Tried loading the Winking Skeever again but to no avail. This is getting annoying :/ edit: Tried entering the Blue Palace 3 times - 1st. Infinite loading screen 2nd. Successfully entered, but crashed shortly after the scene with Varnius Junius 3rd. CTD So something is messing with the inns AND the jarl throne rooms (but I could enter the Dawnstar one with no problems?), but only the ones in major cities?
