Okay before the board changed, I had this idea.

 

Currently Joburg is shall we say, a bit silly. It has potential to be a realistic addon simulating stalking and raping, but the way it goes about this is... way too over the top.

 

People stalk each other in broad daylight, regardless of who's watching, where they are, who they are, etc. It's been known to turn whole towns and city districts into one massive orgy/rape party (and depending on the loverswithpk settings, a genocidal revenge bloodbath soon after.)

 

Part of the problem I feel is the targeting system, so I'd like to adjust it to be a bit more realistic.

 

The new targeting system should consider the following things, in addition to what it already has:

 

  • Is the target isolated?: Currently, stalkers don't really seem to care weither or not they're seen in full view of the public, they'll gladly rape you and other NPCs right in front of the guards and/or right in the middle of the Imperial City Market right where everyone's walking.
     
    Instead stalkers will only make their moves when the target is out of eyesight of everyone else. If they are they'll still stalk, but they'll only semi-stalk. That is they'll follow the target very slowly from a distance, and wait till they and the target are out of the eyes of observers. Once they are, they'll speed up and then knock the target out and commence raeping.
     
    In other words: Stalkers will no longer rape their targets in full view of everyone.
     
    Caveats:
    1. This check will not count observers who have a responsibility of less than >35. (see responsibility)
       
    2. This check is also subverted by the Disposition friendship Check if "mutual high disposition" or "target has crush on friendly stalker" or "stalker has crush on friendly target" comes up, as it causes stalkers to behave differently under those circumstances.
       
    3. The visibility of spectators is reduced at night, so potential stalkers will rape a lot sooner than in broad daylight.

     

     

    [*]Is the Stalker stronger than the Target? If you were a rapist, you obviously wouldn't pick a target you knew darn well could beat the living shit out of you. Yet in joburg you often see beggars stalking after guards....

     

    In realistic edition, strength stat and/or level should have an effect on likelihood for a stalker to continue stalking the target. If the stalker is the same level as the target, it's neutral (no mulitplier). If the target's level is lower than the stalker's the chance of being targeted increases ever more dramatically the further the level gap. Inversely, if the target's level is higher than the stalkers, the chances of being targeted and raped lowers dramatically the higher the target's level is in relation to the stalkers.

     

    Example: a level 10 stalker is extremely likely to rape a level 1 target, moderately likely to rape a level 5 target, Neutrally likely to rape a level 10 target, moderately unlikely to rape a level 15 target, very unlikely to rape a level 20 target, extremely unlikely to rape a level 30 target, and completely unlikely to rape a level 50+ target.

     

    Caveats and Ideas

    1. Subverted by the Disposition friendship Check if "mutual high disposition" or "target has crush on friendly stalker" or "stalker has crush on friendly target" comes up.
       
    2. Instead of simply a level check, one could replace it with a strength stat check. The stronger/weaker the target is in relationship to the stalker, the less/more likely they are to be stalked. Should the check fail and the stalker knock out the target, a skill check could come into play to see if the stalker is successful or is driven away
       
      For NPCS: it finds the highest skill the NPC has (in relation to the following: Destruction, Alteration, Illusion, mysticism, conjuration, barter, speechcraft) checks it against the stalker's skill in that area, and does a random calculation to see if the target can get away.
      If the check comes out in the target's favor, the target does one of the following effects listed below, and runs away. If the check comes out in the stalker's favor, then the target fails to throw off the stalker, and... well... raep time!:heart:
       
      For Players: Once the stalker knocks out the player, either in spite of or because of the strength difference, the player will be presented with a bunch of Options to try and push away the stalker (in addition to just accepting it). The chosen option will then be compared against the stalker's expertise in that skill If the player's skills in that area is higher than the stalker's the player wins, the effect is played, and the player can escape. If the stalker's skill in that area is higher than yours however, the stalker simply laughs at you, then rapes you. You only get one chance.
       
      EFFECTS: This is what happens if the target succeeds the skill check.
       
      Destruction: Stalker: wha? *starts on fire* AH! IT BURNS! IT BUUUUUURRRNSSSS!!!! MAKE IT STOP!!! AAAHHHHH!!! (stalker will then run around aimlessly through town while on fire for 30 seconds. (1pt damage per 30 seconds)
       
      Alteration: Stalker: Wha? SHI- (Stalker is then turned to stone for 1 week in game time. After which he returns to normal.)
       
      Illusion: Stalker: Wu---huh... uuuuhhhh.... wha... what just... where... who am I... ummm.... (Stalker then walks away while he tries to remember just who he is.)
       
      Mysticism: Wha? AAGH! (Stalker then gets telekenatically thrown away from target at very high speed. After landing the stalker runs away)
       
      Conjuration: Huh? What's that nois- (several random daedric/undead creatures then appear and attack the stalker. Creatures will disappear after 30 seconds, after the stalker is dead, or stalker has killed them all.
      ALT IDEA: Daedric portal will appear above stalker's head and then falls down, swallowing stalker and banishing him temporarily. Stalker will then reappear the same way and loaction he left 30 seconds, though without any clothes and at 1 health.)
       
      Barter (requires 200 gold) Well, if you're THAT desperate... Fine. I'll just take this and spend it on a more willing peice of ass. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind. (stalker walks away)
       
      Speech (Replaces the normal refusal dialogue) Well when you put it that way... Fine. I'll let you go this time, but next time you won't be so lucky! (stalker walks away)

     

     

    [*]How responsible is the Stalker? Admittedly this is in fact implemented, but not very well. you still see guards and/or highly pious people stalking after other NPCs and the player. It needs to have a greater effect.

     

    The further below 50 a stalker is, the more dramatically that his chances that he'll continue stalking increase. even more so the further below 25.

     

    Inversely, the higher above 50, and even moreso above 75 a stalker is, the less likely they are they will stalk.

     

    Also, if a NPC has a responsiblity above 80 and witnesses a rape in progress, they will break it.

     

    If its between 50 and 79, they'll run for help.

     

    if its between 31 and 49, they'll stand and watch, then leave when your done.

     

    if its below 30, they'll rape the target as soon as the NPC is done.

     

    CAVEATS:

    • This check is Subverted by the Disposition friendship Check.

     

     

    [*]Is the Stalker in the same faction as the target? If so, the chances of the stalker stalking the target is drastically reduced. Brought down to 0 if the target is either higher ranked than they are, or the Stalker's responsibility is above 35.

     

    Caveats:

    • This check is Subverted by the Disposition friendship Check if "mutual high disposition" or "target has crush on friendly stalker" or "stalker has crush on friendly target" comes up.
       
    • This only checks actual factions (Including but not limited to: Mages guild, Fighters Guild, Dark brotherhood (yes they'll rape other people before killing them. But not each other. To do so, is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.) City guards, Necromancers, conjurers, Mythic Dawn, Vampires, etc.) It won't check superficial factions like city citizen factions or family factions or shop owners. Otherwise almost no one would rape anyone.

     

    [*]Is the stalker a guard on duty? IMO guards should not be rapists. yes I know, there is such thing as Imperial Corruption, but trying to use that excuse for guards stalking and raping when they're supposedly on duty is shoehorning that explanation quite a lot.

    So yeah. If a guard is on duty, it automatically disqualifies them from being stalkers. At least, while they're on duty. If they're captains or Palace Guards it prevents them from being rapists 100% of the time (even Audens Avidius wouldn't go that far to abuse his power. And all the other Captains are just out of the question.)

     

    Not effected by the Disposition Friendship check. At least, not while on duty.

     

    Also applies to shop owners. It's not good business to be raping your customers after all ;)

  • What is the relationship (disposition) Between the stalker and the target? This is the big one because it doesn't change likelihood of being targeted, but actually changes the way stalkers and targets behave.
     
    Basically this check gauges both the disposition of the stalker towards the target, and the disposition of the target. The realtionship levels fall into several catagories. Their effects fall further catagories based on the target's responsibilites.
    1. Stalker and Target are mutual lovers/fuckbuddies (Both have +75 disposition twoards one another
      • Altered stalking rules civil. (instead of stalking the target until they get to an isolated location and then knocking them out, stalker will directly approach target as soon as they're targeted and begin conversation. ignores the above conditions.)
        • If the target's responsibility is above 75 (a pious saint), the conversation will be very civil, high class, and and polite. Conversation during sex will be very sweet and sappy.
           
        • If the target's responsibility is between 40 and 75 (a responsible person), the conversation will be more casual, but still polite. Conversation during sex will be a mix between dirty (not as dirty as below) and sweet (not as sweet as above) This will also be how the player is talked to if the target is the player. (perhaps have a possible option to change it though)
           
        • If the target's responsibility is between 20-40 (a slut), the conversation will be a lot more dirty, but still obviously mutual both ways.
           
        • If the target's responsibilty is below (a very kinky slut), the conversation will almost seem like a rape is about to take place, though it will still be semi-obvious that they're just playing. OR it may involve the stalker asking to be raped and taken roughly. To which the target will comply.

     

    [*] After Conversation, if there is no observers, they will then have mutual sex. If they are being observed, they will search for a place where there isn't anyone, then fuck.

     

    [*] If the target is the player and the stalker has a disposition of +75 with you, this is the category it falls under. You have more options however. You can politely turn the stalker down for a minor disposition hit (-1) and extremely rare rape chance, turn him down rudely for a larger disposition decrease and a much larger chance for the stalker to rape you, or accept for a disposition increase, faction increase (random) and possibly other gifts of appreciation.

  • 50% chance that target will turn them down politely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, 30% chance that it will turn into a rape. Otherwise, target will be disappointed and walk away for minor disposition lost for target and stalker. If rape is successful, small disposition gain for target and massive disposition loss for target.
  • 7% chance that target will accept hesitantly, they will then fuck (or find a suitable place to fuck). Minor disposition increase for target, major increase for stalker.
  • 3% chance that target will tell stalker that target has always had a secret naughty side that needs to get out. They will then fuck. Major disposition increase for both.

 

[*] Target is Responsible (40-75 responsibility):

Conversation is casual

 

  • 10% chance the target will turn the target down rudely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, it will turn into a rape. If not, subject will storm away, massive disposition loss for stalker and minor one for target. If rape is successful, small disposition gain for target and massive disposition loss for target.
  • 20% chance that target will turn them down politely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, 30% chance that it will turn into a rape. Otherwise, target will be disappointed and walk away for minor disposition lost for target and stalker. If rape is successful, small disposition gain for target and massive disposition loss for target.
  • 40% chance that target will accept hesitantly, they will then fuck (or find a suitable place to fuck). Minor disposition increase for target, major increase for stalker.
  • 30% chance that target will tell stalker that target will accept readily. They will then fuck. Major disposition increase for both.

 

[*] Target is Slutty(20-40 responsibility):

Conversation is dirty.

 

  • 3% chance the target will turn the target down rudely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, it will turn into a rape. If not, subject will storm away, massive disposition loss for stalker and minor one for target. If rape is successful, small disposition gain for target and massive disposition loss for target.
  • 7% chance that target will turn them down politely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, 30% chance that it will turn into a rape. Otherwise, target will be disappointed and walk away for minor disposition lost for target and stalker. If rape is successful, small disposition gain for target and massive disposition loss for target.
  • 40% chance that target will accept hesitantly, they will then fuck (or find a suitable place to fuck). Minor disposition increase for target, major increase for stalker.
  • 50% chance that target will accept readily. They will then fuck. Major disposition increase for both.

 

[*] Target is very Slutty(>20 responsibility):

Conversation is very dirty.

  • 1% chance the target will turn the target down rudely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, it will turn into a rape.   • 2% chance that target will turn them down politely. If Stalker is irresponsible AND stronger than target, 30% chance that it will turn into a rape.   • 27% chance that target will accept hesitantly, they will then fuck (or find a suitable place to fuck). Minor disposition increase for target, major increase for stalker.
  • 70% chance that target will accept readily. They will then fuck. Major disposition increase for both.

This looks quite interesting. One side effect of the disposition system you may want to consider is that characters with high personality will have a much lower chance of being stalked and raped because, if I understand it right, it will make NPCs default to a higher disposition.

For NPC->PC yes, that would need to be separate I see.

 

How about this? If NPC stalker has Disposition >70 with the player, the NPC uses Alternate Stalker rules Civil. Otherwise they use normal stalking rules.

 

Normal stalking rules applied to the player is already described in strength/level check. (that yes will make a player a lot less likely to be stalked and raped. As I said there, if you were a dirty raping scumbag in the imperial city, you'd probably want to rape people that you perceive as weaker than you, rather than somebody you know damn well could just throw you off like you were a stuffed animal, and then procede to turn you into paste with little effort.)

If a stalker would rape you, you are presented with some choices to try and throw him off. if you succede, see the effect. if not, he mocks you and then rapes you.

 

Alternate Stalker Rules for player would work like this: if a stalker is >70 disposition with you, they won't stalk you normally. instead, they'll walk up to you and ask to have sex with you (the tone of voice they use dependant on their responsibility and/or follower status.)

 

You can either rudely refuse, politely refuse, or accept.

 

If you rudely refuse, you'll suffer a big disposition drop with them. on top of that, if they are stronger than you AND irresponsible (responsiblity <30), they will attempt to rape you (you are presented with anti-rape options). Otherwise they'll just storm away. if they do successfully rape you though you'll get some of the disposition back.

 

If you politely refuse, the same thing happens, but the disposition hit will be a lot less severe. If they're irresponsible AND stronger than you, there's only a 30-50% chance that they'll try to rape you.

 

If you accept, you'll gain a small amount of disposition with them. As well as some other reward.

 

 

Mostly, this whole thing is geared twoards NPC-NPC relationships, to prevent Joburg from turning cities into orgy pools while still giving a realistic sexual simulator when it comes to NPCs.

Sounds like a good idea, but you're probably overcomplicating it. Numbers and percentages are subject to change because you might want to balance it, and it's probably to break down everything basing on implementation. Something like visibility check, relationship check, success check, post-encounter effect, etc. And don't rush with complex checks from the beginning, probably making a stub for every part would help a lot. I wish I could help you with this, but I'm not very familiar with scripting and probably OBSE requires some additional tools or deeper understanding of this.

Well if there's only ONE thing I'd like to change/implement out of that whole list... It's the LOS check (so people aren't stalking out in the middle of the street.) That I think would make the biggest difference.

 

That and a better, more heavily reinforced responsiblity check. As well as a better reaction system to NPCs seeing each other getting raped. (As it stands, when an NPC sees or hears another NPC raping another NPC, they think "oh man that's hot I should go rape someone now! :D" which leads to another npc raping another NPC, and another, and another... until before you know it the imperial city market district is ablaze in one big rape orgy.)

Okay, so i've taken the list and whacked it down a little bit, hopefully this should refine things a little further.

 

 

To make Joburg a little more serious and realistic, I propose the following changes to various sectors:

 

 

STALKER EXCLUSION LIST:

 

certain people should be excluded from becoming stalkers.

 

- Guards

 

- The Blades

 

- Anyone else with a responsibility level above 50.

 

TARGET EXCLUSION LIST:

 

Certain targets should be off limits to stalkers

 

- Guards (seriously, who would be dumb enough to rape a guard in a world where the guards go psycho-beserk for stealing an apple?)

 

- Members of the same faction (does not apply to city citizenship factions)

 

- Any target that's has a level difference of >= 5 when compared to the stalker.

 

 

STALKER BEHAVIOR:

 

instead of the very obvious and rather dumb "target a person, go into very obvious sneak mode with an even more obvious reflect effect marking the target, and then and charge straight into the target" the stalker should follow the interested person NORMALLY for 1 minute untill they are isolated (That is, they are not in veiw of anyone that doesn't have less than >30 responsiblity, and isn't in the theives guild.), then they talk to the person and after a short conversation begin to rape.

 

OBSERVER REACTION:

 

This is part of what tends to turn highly populated areas into orgy fests. When one person sees another person in the act of sex, it currently increases their libdo and encourages them to seek sex as well (increasing the chance that they'l turn into stalkers.) and the process repeats ad-infinum untill the whole town is ablaze in sex.

 

Instead, what I propose is this... when a person chances upon a person having sex, one of three things will happen:

 

(30 or less responsiblity): They will join the rape. (they'll start stalking the victim and wait till the first stalker is done, then rape the victim.) "Hey you gotta live one I see! Let me join in and I won't tell nobody >:3 )

 

(50-75 responsiblity): They will run away from the scene like it was a battle. "I didn't see anything! I Swear!"

 

(75+ and/or guard): They will try to break up the act. If the stalker is lower level than the Observer, they'll run away. If not, they'll then begin to rape the observer instead while the former target runs away. In the case of a guard a bounty will be placed on the person. (switch offable though to prevent city-wide massacaring. mostly for use with Ren's Guard Overhaul) "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!"

Lovers Joburg (semi) Realistic Edition 0.1

 

First version.

 

CHANGES:

 

- Very crude and very basic checks put in.

 

- Guards will not stalk or be stalked.

 

- Blades will not stalk (seriously they're too well disciplined to give into those sort of vises.)

 

- Kvatch victims will not stalk (they've just been through hell, so sex is probably the last thing on their mind.)

 

- Knights of the Thorn will not stalk (they're in hot water as it is. Last thing their little drinking club wants is to be caught up in a sex scandal)

 

- Knights of the White Stallion will not Stalk.

 

- Anyone with a responsiblity level of above 50 will not stalk.

 

- Stalkers won't stalk victims if their target is 5 levels or more above them.

 

- Members of most notible factions won't stalk other members of the same factions (did my best to define all the noteworthy vanilla factions. this doesn't apply to insignificant factions (IE Weyefaction) or mod added factions.)

 

 

Known issues:

 

May not work 100%.

 

Blocks are very crude all-or-nothing, not percent-based (yet). so in theory someone with 50 or more responsibility should not stalk AT ALL.

 

Blocks for some reason do not apply to conversation-based stalking.

Even in its early stages ive seen improvements. I survived the imperial city without getting raeped.

 

And seeing it works got raped by a edited high level bandit.

Lovers Joburg Realism Edition .2 is here.

 

Changes:

 

- Dialogue Checks added to cut down on Dialogue based stalking. They're not as elaborate as stalker checks (Just a <50 responsibility check, target/subject isn't a guard, and a few "not in Banned Factions" checks. they do not have any level checks or shared faction checks.)

 

- Characters in the Shivering Isles Order Faction will no longer stalk. (Raping causes an emotion. Emotion is Anathema to order. So Rape is harmful to Order, even if they're the ones doing it.)

Joburg Realistic Edition 0.21 released.

 

I'll be posting updates and files in the official download section thread from here on out.

 

Unfortunately I think I've reached as far as I can with this project, given my limited scripting knowledge (especially with obse).

 

Though if someone would be willing to take on this project for me, I can give a few directions.

 

For example: Next thing on the list would be observer behavior, as detailed in a previous post.

 

Only irresponsible people would watch/join in. Responsible ones would flee. "I didn't see anything!" Holier-than-though types would break up the act if it was a rape, or call a guard if it wasn't. A guard would break it up, and either attack the rapist, or if it was consensual fine both of them (for public indecency)

 

Then after that an options menu would be nice, perhaps.

... not that it really matters. Unlike with regular joburg you'll very rarely have more than 1 person stalking you. Unless you hang around bravil or the waterfront a lot.

Great set of tweaks. As fun as it was watching Malvulis rape guards in public without getting the tar beaten out of her for it, it got silly after a while.

Nor was it very appropriate that some toothless bum would have the audacity to demand sex from my high level, armed to the teeth character.

I don't think so, as dirty remarks are actually on the very low end of the priority list.

 

 

ACtually though I've stopped working on it due to insufficient scripting knowledge. But if someone else is willing to pick this up now that i got the ball rolling, let me know.

 

Next thing to change would actually be Observer behavior (instead of everyone watching and starting to masturbate, different people of different responsibility levels would react differently.

 

Low responsibility people would masturbate and watch just like they normally do, and might stalk the target in response.

 

Moderate responsibility people would simply walk/run away "I didn't see anything!"

 

High responsibility people would call a guard, or attempt to break it up if it was a rape.

 

Guards would break it up, and either attack the rapist or fine the couple for public indecency (if it was consensual) )

 

After that it would be LOS check, to prevent them from stalking if their targets out in public surrounded by several people. Something similiar to the LOS check in AdultPlayPlus.

 

After that would be to change how dialogue based stalking works to reflect that. They won't start rape unless they pass the LOS check.

 

If its consentual, they'd go look for somewhere out of earshot of everyone untill they found a good place to start screwing instead of starting to screw in front of everyone. Dunno how the hell one would implement this, but its an idea.

Just a thought for something fairly advanced that I have no idea how to implement, if an NPC is significantly above another NPC or the player in level/strength and wants to rape they could overpower them and force them to follow in a way similar to PlayerSlave to a secluded area.

 

On the other end of things, you could have a chance for a significantly weaker NPC to try and rape you anyway and then you could have a dialog option along the lines of "Knock his ass down" and that NPC gets punted to the floor and flees for his life.

I've never understood how the "Joburg Customizer" works in-game.

I have the file checked on my OBMM but have never seen it in action and I don't know how to access it in-game.

Well, from what I can tell the Customizer is a patch file. LoversJoburg.esp has a script built into it that checks whether or not you have the Customizer loaded. If you do, it'll use the Customizer to calculate the stalking chance for an NPC.

 

So you can just use the Customizer to adjust the chances of stalking occurrences. However, since you the only way to change the calculations is to do it through opening it up in the CS and editing the script, it's sort of redundant. You could just do the same thing in the original Joburg file (as rylasasin did) and get the same results.
