subzero22 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I'm making a custom npc follower and I have tried putting the armor from a mod I dled but when re-loading the ck or even going into the game she either isn't there or the armor doesn't show up on her or in her inv. I've noticed that she won't even wear clothes until I fast travel but the armor still doesn't show up. If I make a default outfit she doesn't load in the game at all. If I put the armor pieces in her inv she just plain doesn't have them.
Endiness Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I would figure it would have to go something like this. 1. Make an default outfit of the custom armor in the custom armor.esp 2. Make custom armor.esp a master file to your custom npc.esp 3. Select that outfit for default on your follower. 4. If that doesn't work than turn custom armor.esp into .esm.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 - I used "TESVSnip" to convert an armour mod .esp into an .esm. - I then used the CK to make an "outfit" so that a new NPC would actually equip it by default - something they will NOT do if the items are simply in their inventory. - The armour I ended up using was not in fact my first choice. The one I wanted to use originally turned out to have some kinda weight issue when applied to NPCs. Bear in mind that your armour mod of choice may not always work as you wish - some mods will simply say "No" no matter what you do.
subzero22 Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Sorry for the long reply I was being over worked for a bit. Ok now I'm going to try both your ways and see if it will work. Also I used a clothing that was a part of the mod that the npc that comes with it, What is weird is that my npc won't even wear that clothing even as a default outfit till I fast travel. Another weird thing is that I give my npc follower some armor from the armor mod and it will wear it but as soon as I save, close then next day I came back. The armor even in the followers inv was gone.
