[SOLVED!] Disappearing Candles?? O_o

Here's the problem:

ScreenShot123.jpg

The candles are missing. This applies to every candle in the game world (EDIT: with the exception of the "Horn Candles").

This has been the case for some time.

I have tried applying replacement textures & meshes from unpacked .bsa's, de-activating all mods, re-installing Skyrim, and even doing a full manual uninstall to remove every game file and THEN re-installing, but it has not fixed the problem.

I cannot work out what has caused this. Somehow the fact that the candles are missing has at some time become embedded somewhere and I can't seem to fix it...

Is there an easy solution to this??

my first guess would be that at some time you

use the disable or markfordelete command on something and got the candles

disabled by mistake.

if you make a new player are the candles still gone ?

Yeh' date=' they're still gone with all new characters. :(

 So I can try to re-enable/un-"markfordelete" them of the off-chance that's what's happened, how do I accomplish that?

**Note that the candles' FLAME still appears in-game, and they still illuminate - it's just the candle itself which is missing. Additionally, closer inspection of the "Horn Candle" reveals that while the horn & flame are indeed visible, again the candle itself is missing. Same with lanterns - visible lantern, visible flame, no candle inside.

UPDATE: Just tried the "player.placeatme" route - same problem. All it does is spawn another missing candle.

The toggle wire frame "twf" command reveals the following:

Is the wireframe for the candle missing perhaps?

UPDATE:

Interesting development...

I went looking again for a possible fix for an ongoing issue with missing candles in my game on my desktop, and found this post:

http://www.gameskyrim.com/missing-candle-sticks-with-after-t262763.html

I tried turning my AA off in "Options", and went to view the effect in-game. The candles reappear. The flames sometimes flicker weirdly on & off, but the wax candle itself is visible. I can force AA through both my graphics card & through ENB Customizer, and they are still visible - ergo, I can force a workaround of sorts. The problem is apparently due to some kind of weird issue related to Skyrim's AA on my desktop rig.

With this in mind, does anyone have any possible insight into what it is that is apparently causing this quirk with the game's AA?

you using a ATI card ?

go to 3D application settings

and click on DEFAULT

and then set

Texture Filtering to 'High Quality'

Enable Surface Format Optimization: enabled

Set ATI Antialiasing setting on multi-sample, do not set it on "adaptive".

and leave the rest where default has them.

also Im using Catalyst Version 12.4

as 12.6 messes up my textures pretty bad

though that might be because i let Steam update my video drivers

last time (yea I know...)
