FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 I would like to experiment using different lighting mods in my Skyrim, however... I recently tried using the "Imaginator" and "Ultra-Realistic" lighting mods, did not like the results, and tried to uninstall - only to find, to my HORROR, that installation was NOT removing the effects! Not to worry, I thought. I'll just get some clean saves & all will be well, I thought. Nope. Shit... Even clean saves from *another machine*, when loaded on my main machine, would immediately start displaying the godawful butchered lighting! Not to worry, I thought. I'll just uninstall & reinstall Skyrim - that'll fix it, I thought. Nope. Shit... Righto - that bloody-well does it! Uninstall, then manually delete, All Things Skyrim. The Stukas dive, the shell-casings fall, Wagner goes medieval! Reinstall Skyrim from scratch, manually reapply all wanted mods, copy in clean saves from the other machine, test. IT WORKS! YAY! The wine flows, the satyrs cavort, Beethoven's 6th works its magic, and all the winged ponies are happy - even the little black one! *Whew* I'd really like to know if there's an idiot-proof way to easily and safely try out some ENB-style lighting goodies without me having to resort to Stukas and Wagner and death-from-above?
SenReality Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 ... wow, you went through all that? if I want to remove ENB and so on I just gather em' up an delete ... and it works o.o;;
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 ... wow' date=' you went through all that? if I want to remove ENB and so on I just gather em' up an delete ... and it works o.o;; [/quote'] (The title of the thread appears to be causing some confusion, and has now been changed....) Yeh, ENB is easily got rid of. Unfortunately, "Ultra Realistic World Lighting" is apparently not so easy a beast to slay. I may hafta just cycle through a few dozen ENB configurations until I find one which a) does not give my FPS a heart attack (even playing on a decent rig with 59-60FPS at Ultra almost constantly, knocking 30FPS+ off the top of that just for lighting is a bit much to ask), and is not overly yellow...
SenReality Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I'd suggest Zoners ENB - its good, I like it - makes the world look nice and pretty. Plus uses realistic lighting as well with its own config for it

Ta for the heads-up!
