Hi, first of, im not really knowing what im asking, but i just recently found a thing called detailmaps... :P In the form of complexions, and i wonder how to make them visible? Sorry if im sounding really stupid. I have played with the tera castanic race mod, to work with elves (their horns and complexion.)

The horns were no problem, but the complexion wont show up.... And im out of ideas... Anyone knowing what im trying to say? Haha, this goes so well :P

Attention, I have no permissions to share these files, these are just personal messing with the creation kit ive done when im bored :) You can say im just trying to figure how things work in general. If anyone understands what im trying to comprehend, please give me some tips. Have a wonderful day and sorry for my gibberish :)

If you adjusted anything in an npc's face in creation kit you must export the changes, click on the npc name in the list and press ctrl together with f4 to export the changes or it will be grey in game.

Also important, if you are using any custom textures for the face parts ck will not render them correctly and you will end up with partially discolored face parts showing up in the ck preview . The custom textures will not generate correctly either so you have to remove any custom tintmaks textures when working in ck to prevent this.

Havent messed with any npcs, know kind of how to make a new npc. Im trying to make cutedesigns complexions playable for vanilla races. So far i dont get it at all, how do you in the first place replace complexions? :P

Ok I understand you now, I hope. You need to add  face parts to the race in order to access those in character creation, but if you are going to use them as replacements they will affect npcs which will cause all npcs in the game to get grey face parts if you don't rebuild them so make sure to add them to your race as new parts or you will have a lot of work to do.

Also if those custom face parts use custom textures you will not be able to use them as replacements through ck because it can only generate low resolution tintmasks.

Im very tired and not native to english, so sorry that i am a bit gibberish :)  Its just that it is so funny :P

Hm... I think i understand, i took and duplicated woodelf head, then edited with new form id and added the new detailmap, but it doesent show. It shows the texture but not the makeup/thingie i am after. Ive managed to add human eyes to elves, but that method didnt work here.. Hope you understand a little what im saying.

Know any tutorial that can help? Have this tutorial only, and im not sure if that covers my ambition :P

You shouldn't have to replace the head, the detail maps are added by texture set id so you have open each race and add those textures to your list in face details, look at tint tab and at the bottom of the page is where they are added to the race so they will show up in race menu.

Ahh, sorry again! its not for an NPC/follower at all, its for my character/player, im trying to make  the castanic-complexions work in the racemenu for elves instead of castanic/ashen race. As some headpart. Since ive made the horns playable instead of scars i cant use those, so ive tried with replacing dirt and complexions, but i cant find the complexions in the creation kit to mess with except in the textureset, and when im messing with that, my characters face become grey, and i cant use ctrl + f4 on my character (tried :P)

Kind of solved the problem without doing anything thought, if i used my  custom racemenu preset on a castanic in game it kind of turned out as i wanted, but then i havent used custom races before, so i dont know how they work with all the other mods Ive got, or the game itself. Hmm.. :P
