Triple load needed

When loading a skyrim save I often have to load the same save several times.

The first two times often just crashes upon finishing loading, but if I keep restarting skyrim and reloading a save circa three times - it works...

Why does it help to keep loading? is there a way to prevent the first crashes?

You know, you should be careful with your tittle, i thought you were needing something entirely different  :P

Jokes aside:

This randomly happens to me as well and i never figured what causes it

So, instead of playing "roulette" this is what i did:

- Start a new game (hopefully you have Live Another Life mod so no need to wait for all the intro), create char (leave it at default, doesnt matter) wait for all the usual things to happen (MCM registrations, etc), make a new save. This will be your "base"

- Now load your last save (quicksave or what ever) and play normally

Next time (and every time) you load the game for the first time, load the "base" savegame first then load your last save.

I do this and, for some reason, game wont crash

iirc this has something to do with the game loading too many assets at the same time. When starting from main screen you need to load the world, scripts, and saved data. god knows what else (i am doing an estimated guess here) When loading a save, the load this creates crashes the game

When you load a base save/ new game, the load on your pc from loading is lowered and spread out, thus preventing a crash.

Instead of loading a base save, you can enter the console from the main screen and type "coc ctest"

This loads a testing cell from which you can load your save (this is slightly faster and skips 1 loading time)

the actual console command and the cell id is:

coc qasmoke

And there is a Mod which adds a spell giving you the possibility to travel instantly to the qasmoke cell: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26442/?

It also brings you back to your previous position.

Nice. But why?

And keep in mind that if this guy cannot load a save he cannot use this mod.

While the console is available before loading a save game.

More than 1 testing cells exist; i just started my clean skyrim and used the coc ctest in the main screen of the game: this resulted in loading that cell. since coc ctest is easier to type than coc qasmoke, i might argue my solution works slightly better:)

This way I can save safe savegames, from where I can cast the spell and I'm back in action. Some kind of longer quicksave... I have tons of savegames, always checking for the base savegame to load first takes too long.

Just a tip for a future playthrough.

(It doesn't happen often that loading into an area with other npc works for me).
