World of Warcraft -to- Skyrim Armor/Armor Sets importing

I do not know if this is a request or a suggestion, but here it goes, a thread under the banner of the second one.

 

I stumbled onto this community randomly some time ago and I like the fact that you do not hold grudges towards ripping models and objects from other games and importing them into Skyrim, so I'd like to ask for a, well, a favor but also a collaborated effort in case somebody is interested into this.

 

My idea was to import armor sets/armor pieces from World of WarCraft to Skyrim. Now, I'm not modder or modeler per se and I can't rig for shit, BUT I can export models from WoW, both as complete model structure or a separate pieces of armor/gear (namely shoulders and helmets).

 

For those who are not familiar with how the WoW model structure works -- the models are consisted of numerous Geosets, all connected together to form the complete model. For that very reason, chest pieces, gloves, boots, belts and the like are not exportable as separate items but more like a complete body structure, with the only exceptions being shoulders and helmets which can be pulled out as separate items/models and have couple variations depending on the race (helmet-wise.

 

I was converting models from WoW to Warcraft 3 (as map resources) so I can export them as .OBJ files and/or convert them to .MDL/.MDX in case someone can make a use of that. I can attach/detach Geosets depending on the resources that I have available and work around slightly with the bone structure of the model.

 

To cut a long story short, again, I'm no modeler/rigger so I can't work on a models that are going to fit into Skyrim and it's engine, BUT I can provide the resources and in few forms if needed be in case some modeler or rigger is interested to do the importing process.

 

I have one particular set (Cryptstalker Armor) that I'd like to see imported, after that I will provide resources based on the community's needs/requests.

i agree, would love to see some of the WoW armors in skyrim. mostly the warrior tier sets, as that was my main for 6 years in the game. thanks to the weapon pack found here, i already have 3 of my favorite shields and some bad ass weapons.

 

warrior tiers 1(might battlegear), 3(dreadnaught), 5(destroyer), 6 (onslaught),8(siegebreaker), and 10 (ymirjar) would all look great on a big ol nord barbiarian style character.

I don't understand though to be honest, if you don't like the mod and are not planning on using it what is the point of bashing someone else's opinion about the same item?

You saw the title of the thread and came in with the thought is my point lol I'm not talking about pc. Really as far as I know unless you start spouting total nonsense or cussing someone out or something insane like that; no one is going to hammer you down here for having a negative opinion. But why say something about it at all when you obviously don't care for the project? Of course you are allowed your personal view and opinion, that's... well it's personal!

 

I'm also half asleep so I may not be making sense. I just don't understand people who feel the need to say something negative, no matter how they put it; about something they obviously don't want anything to do with nor will help with down the line.

Well ok. Sorry for beeing the negative guy. Nevertheless, I hope you find someone who makes your armors. We all want armors and stuff and every taste is different. So peace out =)

the armors shouldnt be ripped or ported in, they should be made so they look like they actually belong there.

 

i know whoever undertook that project will have their hands full, but too see some of those armors in skyri, looking like they belong there, would be so sweet. and the last 2 armors i mentioned earlier, tier 8 and 10, are pretty norse inspired in design, so they would fit the setting quite nicely.

I've played World of Warcraft for years, recently quit. It would be interesting to see some of the other armor sets, let alone weapons in skyrim.

Bulwark of Azzinoth, as it'd be nice to have more than one spiked shield, other than that...there are few armors that would fit into Skyrim from WoW without some major texture and model tweaking.
