evilelf Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Hello, I attempted to put together a few animations a couple of years ago...but due to time constraints and RL I had to abandon the project. Now, my concern is that it may be too late to get back into this type of work. It appears that only a few really active animators are left, and all the animation guides require some tools that are now out of reach. At this time, I only have access to my student copies of 3d Studio Max 2012 and 2014...and also Maya. All of my copies of the havok tools except 2013 have been lost. Can I create workable animations with these tools? Blender is not an option for me since I MUCH prefer the Autodesk software. Most guides state that Max 2012 and Havok 2011.3 (now lost) are necessary for the creation of stable Skyrim animations. Have any of the animators here had any luck using 3ds Max 2014 with the 2013 tools? Or maybe I could place Maya into the workflow somehow? Any advice at all would be a big help. I was rather excited at the prospect of relearning and getting back into things, but, it seems like Skyrim animating took a mortal wound with the closing of the Havok PcXs...and with that the loss of the old tools once available to aspiring modders. Edit: Turned up my old copy of 2011.3 on an old drive I'd forgotten about. Disregard. I can use all the standard guides now.
