Wish to make a mod, but does not know how.

As the title says, I wish to make my own mod. More specifically, a perk tree mod for khajits that would require USLEEP and SPERG as well as a compatibility plug-in for Sexlab and Devious Devices (which would make it more interesting to play as a naked khajit woman in a BDSM environment). Thus I turn towards the Loverslab community to teach me how to mod. I know there is a guide, but long story short, I lack the attention to read everything in it and end up almost asleep trying to read it. I want to use the Creation Kit for that, tried to used it too, but never managed to find where I was going (same story here, tutorials bore me when they are written or when someone makes a video). So instead of trying random stuff, I'd like someone to tell me what I need, ie: what do I load, where do I go to make a specific effect change in the game and please, don't tell me to hard code anything. I want to make it only once, release it and make it open source for any who wants to maintain it, with the hopes of keeping it universal for any mod updates.

If you're finding that you can't follow along with tutorials before becoming bored, your problem may be information overload. There's a lot that needs to come together to make a mod work, and trying to absorb it all at once doesn't usually work.

Very few people want to hear this but the best known way to make your dream mod is to set it aside and start fresh with some elementary projects: a house mod, a single NPC mod, a spell script that gives you some gold. None of these may seem inspiring but they teach you the skills you need to start doing interesting things. If you keep them as simple as possible, you can complete them quickly which gives you a real sense of your skills' progress, unlike taking on a big project that will drag on and fatigue your optimism.  Then you can come back to your first idea with knowledge of what is possible, and how you might go about making it.

I expect your idea to have people instruct you explicitly won't work so well. To noodle out the "How" is half the work; implementing is easy once you've got the concepts figured out (the rest of the work is debugging, scrapping+rebuilding, fighting the CK, and other thankless, boring, tedious things). Basically you're all but asking people to make your mod for you, with the added burden of explaining it to you every step of the way.

Tutorials are good though! People who make them work really hard to make them clear to you. Accept that doing tutorials is just another skill you need to learn - and it's a good one that will let you learn anything else you may like. Painting, perhaps. Or euclidean mathematics.

There is no quick button clicks in the ck to make a mod. It is a step by step process that requires you to at least learn the basics to even make the simplest mod and what your referring to is not going to be basic.

If you can't get through the basic tutorials without being bored to death then modding isn't for you. You can't simply say do this then this to help someone make a mod. The only way someone can help a person who is unwilling to learn how to mod make one is by doing it for them in which case it would be their mod.

If you decide to put in a little work and get started making your mod then there are a lot of helpful people who can help you when your stuck on specific problems it's just not possible to help design and make the entire mod for you.

Start slowly:

- make a mod with a new spell

- make a mod that alters 1 perk from a specific tree

- make a mod that alters several perks from different trees

and so on... always start small, when you get the hang of how things work and what do you need to do then you start going bigger

All the "small objectives" i pointed can be easily achieved by downloading any mod that already does that and edit it with TES5edit or CK and make changes you want. This way you get to see what is done where and how. You might do some mistakes but you will also learn from them !

I already have trouble with trying to make the mod, the creation kit just up and crash. So I'm going to say it does not like me.

Use Tes5edit then. It has its limitations, but for the goal you have in mind i am pretty sure you can do it with that tool alone

Take a peek on youtube, there are several videos that explain how you can easily create things with just the "copy as override.." function
