TheBlackSilhouette Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I have this odd bug. I can talk to other npcs, but not Erandur. I can in previous saves, but not anymore. I am using EFT and whenever I choose the "Talk" option, i get this: http://imgur.com/ZJSPz6R I can also add my load order and all that fun, but I figure no one wants to slog though that if this is a common bug. I've tried to search, but the ellipsis (...) does't play well with search, be it Google or LL. EDIT: I also tried enable/disable, kill/resurrect, resetAI, and toggleAI as well as dismissing and re-hiring him.
Guest Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 The dots are a clue for a "Forcegreet" without any prompt specified that is still running. Sadly save games usually do not solve this problem (it is on the esp data, not on the save game or scripts.)
TheBlackSilhouette Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 have you tried script cleaning your save file? Unfortunately, that's not an option. I'm using Crash Fixes to extend string load in saves, which I'm pretty sure makes the saves uncleanable. I could be wrong, but whenever I open a save with this (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/?), it crashes. The dots are a clue for a "Forcegreet" without any prompt specified that is still running. Sadly save games usually do not solve this problem (it is on the esp data, not on the save game or scripts.) Is there any way to fix that? Maybe force a new "forcegreet" to override the previous one? I remember seeing the ... on other occasions on a precious build (I think I was using SD+) and isn't it the response when you command a follower to do something (when the crosshairs go from t to x).
Guest Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 It all depends on the mod that adds the ForceGreet. And I have no clues of which one is. Try to open the console, click on the actor, and check all the info you can get. Maybe the mod name will pop up.

I think for now I'm just going to start a new save and see if I can isolate when (if) the bug occurs again in order to figure out which mod is responsible.
Tefajo Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Just a wild chance, have you tried "fix actor" with EFF ?
TheBlackSilhouette Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 Just a wild chance, have you tried "fix actor" with EFF ? Yeah, no dice
Tefajo Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Just a wild chance, have you tried "fix actor" with EFF ? Yeah, no dice Ok ,... cheating time! (this might be more trouble than a fix.. but..) Bring the console down, click on the NPC, type "player.placeatme <NPCbaseID> 1", another copy of that same NPC will appear. If you can speak to that "clone" then disable the other one and ta-daaaaa! your done!
